Stainless Steel 4-Step Dive/Sport Boat Boarding Ladder

Stop looking for a boarding ladder right now. Seriously, this is the one you are looking for! I'm picky, I usually don't even write reviews and expect stuff to meet expectations. I was looking to replace the the $275 Garelick I lost. I was torn between spending up for the original but took a chance on this one expecting a lighter duty cheaper made piece. The opposite occurred in that the Norestar ladder is a much heavier gauge stainless with higher quality workmanship, and step tread material and design is better. It fits in the Garelick ladder base so I don't have to change that out. The Bracket that shipped with the ladder appears to be sturdy and comparable to the Garelick although it does not have a locking pin. I don't see the locking pin as an issue, the Norestar ladder is so heavy it's not going anywhere or just secure it with a cord. Save yourself some serious money and buy this, the better ladder.

The ladder itself is very well constructed and sturdy. I did not like the mounting bracket which would not have fit on my boat. In my impression, it is not the same quality as the ladder and is very long, Fortunately I was able to use my existing mount which is more compact and of better quality. However, for the price, you cannot go wrong with this ladder.

Ladder was good but there was no description of the mounting bracket and it will not fit on my boat. Would need to know that in advance. Will have to return the ladder.When I made them aware of the situation, they revised their description and issued me a refund immediately.

Piece of junk ladder and bracket. Glad I paid to have my boat hauled out of the water to install my brand new ladder on the transom only to discover after opening the box that the bracket that they supply with the ladder doesn't fit. Not in any way shape or form without some serious metal work being done. Wasted the money to have my boat hauled out for nothing. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a brand new product to work out of the box. Maybe I'm naive and should have thought of this as more of a kit with custom grinding and cutting required.

Fit well in my existing base. Easy. !! Good quality and sturdy construction.

Ladder is great. Bracket that holds it however can only stand a certain amount of weight. Under a large amount of stress or heavy weight it tends to bend just a bit. This makes it very hard to get the ladder out. I recommend purchasing a separate bracket. I use it for scuba diving so my experience may be extreme because I am wearing significant weight as I climb out on the ladder.

Ladder is great but the bracket that came with it is not that good the ladder doesn't lock into that bracket and that bracket is to long by 2 1/2 inchs.

The fit and finish are good. I bought this to replace an broken (3 step) more expensive brand that came with my - new to me - Grady White we purchased earlier this year. Reusing the existing bracket caused some minor challenges and we did have to grind the connectors to make it work. That said, 10 minutes work and we are very happy with the end results. That 4th step makes all the difference when you are trying to board the boat with Scuba tanks and fins
