3mm Sealed Cork Floor Tiles (0.80m2)

These 3mm cork tiles are ideal for laying under tracks on model railways to deaden sound and offer a shoulder before adding ballast.

Take time to prepare surface and to lay tiles. They are exactly what they are. Don't blame the tiles if it goes pear shaped

Perfect for one of my upcycling projects.

Good quality and easy to fit.

I used them as spacers under ply and for that they were OK. I would not use them for flooring as they are not sturdy enough.Comparing them with some Wesco tiles that I have used before and wich are also 3mm (or perhaps 3.2 mm thick): The are of lower density cork (you can feel the give, where the Wesco tiles are very firm even at the untreated side. Their finish coating is almost nonexistent, where is Wesco finish is tough. They break easily. The are very bendy. The positive is that they are very easy to cut & relatively inexpensive.Undoubtedly will be OK for some uses - particularly is you want something which is bendy and easy to cut.My preference for flooring is to use thicker unfinished tiles which are still flexible and which I can seal myself to avoid any moisture seeping between the gaps.

Bought to cover board adhesion not good had to use glue to secure but when fixed ok

Bought to use in a caravan for a worktop but, they are of such low quality that we put them in a Guinea Pig hutch as 'underlay' instead.

Purchased a single pack (batch 6F) to make a cover to protect the top of a chest-of-drawers, as I have done previously. Expected “ready sealed” to be a visible coating that could be wiped-clean: not apparent. Found the edges to be coarse, not smooth as previously found with all other purchased tiles. Would not recommend purchasing these for a finished floor (as opposed to an underlay) unless you were ready to seal the floor with a suitable polyurethane coating.
