Works very well!
I bought this so I wouldn't have to cut holes in my classical guitar to fit an under saddle piezoelectric pickup system. It is one of my favourite classical guitars, cutting holes in the body, and altering the bridge and saddle could easily affect the tone, and ruin it. I had seen these Stick-on pickups before but didn't really think they would be any good without a pre-amp.However, I decided to try one, and this OTraki AD35 had good reviews and was reasonably priced. The setup instructions said to try it in different positions on the guitar front until you find the best sound. I didn't want to keep sticking and unsticking it lots of times, so I set my amp up with all the equaliser dials set to zero (centre) flat line. I then plugged the lead into the pickup and amp, and placed it on the guitar without removing the paper. I held it in place with a light touch of a finger and moved it around until I found a really good position. I was surprised at how different positions sounded, and I only had to move it a little at a time. I found a really good spot that gave a nice balanced tone on all strings just below the right end of the bridge (see photos). Any movement of 10 to 15mm in any direction from that spot, and the tone and volume dropped out! The placement was that sensitive and precise, so take the time to get it right. A note on the volume control on the pickup; I quickly realised that turning it up full caused lots of feedback from the amp. I found the best setting for this was just above the half way point, and it solved the feedback problem while still giving a surprisingly loud sound from my acoustic amp. I then peeled off the backing paper and stuck it in place. I have decided to leave it attached, and just unplug the lead when It's not needed. It's not in the way of anything, like changing the strings, and can't get lost or damaged by continually taking it on and off. They are cheap enough to get one for other guitars that need amplifying. The sound quality is excellent with a clear and balanced natural tone, and just needed small adjustments to bass, mid range and treble dials on my amp. It's perfect for now, and a bargain price. Only time will tell whether it is reliable or not. My only criticism is the 2.5mm jack plug and socket connections. The leads are hard to find if it needs replacing, and it would be much better with 3.5mm plug and socket. The lead is only about 3 metres long, and I used it with a 1/4" jack socket to plug 6 metre extension lead.So first impressions are very good.I will update this if I have any problems with it.It gets 5***** for now!

Easy to fit with plenty of cable.
I have 2 guitars that need pickups, my Tenor (in picture) and a Dobro. I thought I’d try it out on the Tenor first. To be fair it works well but is very sensitive and makes a loud echoey bangs when caught by your hand or when you adjust the volume) so you need to place it where you won’t easily catch it. For the money it represents reasonable value, hence me buying a second for the Dobro.

It sticks too well
I used it on my soprano ukulele. First I thought it was a great product for the money, with great sound. But then I started to notice annoying string buzz, or total absence of sustain on some strings. I moved it around, then to another uke, then another one again. Now it seems to work OK on my concert uke with fluorocarbon strings. But unfortunately this nifty little device split open right in the middle of a gig. I guess that because it sticks so well to the surface of the instrument, each time you twist it in order to remove it, it weakens the contact between the 2 halves of the cabinet. It still works. I will superglue it and avoid moving it to another uke in the future. Also, if I need to move it, I will not use the sticky pads provided but something that is not so strong. Some reviewers mentioned Blue tac. I guess I will try that. All in all, it is quite a convenient device, but with a few flaws that one must know in order to make the most of it.

Good pick up for Tenor Ukelele
So as not to damage the finish on my uke, (OhanaTK 35 Satin Finish) I tried using painter’s tape and the attaching the pick up to the tape and it works really well. Sound quality is very good for the price and will hopefully be improved through attention to eq, and compression, delay et al. On removing the pick up there was no residue from the painters tape (Frog Tape Green). Decided to cut a circle the size of the sticky pad for a visually more elegant look. Positioning of the pick up as advised & when giving a good firm strum the sound board vibrated most from just behind the bridge. Also noted that movement of the cable was completely quiet. There is a little contact noise when adjusting the pick up volume but that is what I would have expected and is not a problem. Really pleased that my uke still sounds like a uke when using pick up especially at the price. Well deserved 5 stars

Convenient way to power up
This product works absolutely fine, it fits onto my ukulele very well with ghe included sticky pads, it allows you to power up really easily and doesn't detract too much from the look of your instrument,One minor issue, if you play your instrument acoustic the unit vibrates a little as you are playing.
