Red Sea Reef Salt Mix Large Bucket - Makes 175 Gallons Complete Marine Saltwater Aquarium Advanced Formula Optimal Coral Health & Stability

After having used Red Sea salt for 3 different tanks for the past few months, I haven't had a single problem with my salt water (I have an RO/DI system). I have tested extensively for ammonia, phosphates, calcium, magnesium, PH, alkalinity, chlorine, nitrates, and nitrites. All are perfect every time. HOWEVER, I do have to add a extra salt to get the perfect salinity: the instructions play it safe. A refractometer is an absolute requirement to getting it right, as is an RO/DI filtration system.Before I purchased this product, I used to pick up salt water from my local fish store. They use Red Sea, too. You just can't get better than this. I just wish it weren't so darn expensive...but that won't stop me from making Red Sea my only marine salt provider.

I’ve used Red Sea Salt for some time now for my 20 gal Red Sea nano tank. This is my second bucket. While the first bucket arrived in tact, this bucket had large breaks in the bottom and side. The bucket was wrapped in a plastic packing wrap possibly to help keep bucket from breaking and/or leaking salt. I still give the salt5 stars as I believe the salt product is a quality product. The packaging would get 2 stars as I’ve read they often break.

Good salt. My alk was reading at 7.7dkh which is what I wanted but my mag was reading really low at 1100 maybe due to a bad batch. Use with caution

I initially really liked this salt for my 125gal reef tank, but after buying it several times over, it changes from bucket to bucket. Your parameters will vary and even the consistency of how well the sand is filtered seems to fluctuate. If your looking for consistency for coral or trying to eliminate variables in your tank I'd be cautious using it
