BISSELL Lift-Off Floors & More Pet - Cordless

This Bissell Lift Off stick vacuum is better than advertised. I live in a large home with original repurposed hardwood floors throughout. I have two cats and a black lab so pet hair and feeding, and litter box areas are an issue. I also have oriental area rugs in several places. This unit is replacing a ten year old Bissell corded model. My Mother called it an electric broom. The performance of this cordless model is as good and even better than the more powerful corded model. The rotating beater bar is a definite huge bonus and being able to turn the bar on and off with the flick of a switch is awesome. I figured I would be sacrificing suction power with this cordless model but I was wrong. The suction is very good and simply keeping the filter clean with each use ensures this feature. With my old corded model cleaning litter areas was often quite the chore. But not with this new model. The detachable dust buster is yet another great feature. I have read other reviews saying they added backup filters but I find that if it is cleaned with mild nylon utility brush and rinsed with warm water and some Dawn one filter suits me fine. It is always dry by the next time cleanup is needed. Cleaning the filter super easy and the rest of the switches on the unit are convenient and sensible. I will never go back to the corded model. Its headed to Goodwill. Charging is easy and run time is consistent with factory specs. I purchased a couple more for Christmas presents. We are all pet lovers and have hardwood or tile floors making this cordless vacuum a wonderful tool. It does very well on thin pile carpets also and even does a pretty good job on thicker pile carpets in the bedrooms in between heavy cleaning with a regular vacuum. I strongly recommend this unit to anyone I love it!!!

I ordered this vacuum in August 2016, and its now Nov 2016 and it has already stopped doing its job. I charge it fully (for about 24 hrs), and it still does not pick up all of the dog hair, dirt, and other particles around the house. I vacuumed the whole house today, and the collection bin was empty!!! Today, as with the last few weeks, the charge barely lasted half an hour before the vacuum started sputtering. I vacuumed the whole house again with my other heavy duty vacuum cleaner, and the collection bin was full of hair, dirt and other particles.I am very disappointed in this and will definitely not be buying this again, and am going to talk to Bissell about either a refund or replacement. The whole reason of ordering this was that I have a back problem, and a dog, so I needed a lightweight but efficient vacuum that would pick up all of the stuff from the hardwood floors and carpet. This Bissell worked well for the first month or two, and now for the past few weeks has been giving problems of charge and performance.

You can't beat the quality for this price - easy to use and does the job. Doesn't actually do much for my dog's hair (short hair) as far as getting it off of her bed or fabric, but really nothing does. It does a fine job getting it up off of the hardwood and tile. I also love the versatility - having the option to use the small hand vac was huge for me. Battery life is great for me and I've never had it die on me. I use it for my bedroom and bathroom and a quick run over the stairs and common areas - my house is small so it probably doesn't have take me more than 20 min. It would be nice if the slide-out nozzle on the hand vac were either angled (for tight corners) or if it could accommodate an attachment for pet hair, but overall I love this and I'd recommend it for basic needs!

I really liked my Bissell cordless vacuum cleaner because number one it's cordless and the battery life lasts long enough for me to vacuum my 72 foot long home. I am completely amazed at how well it picks up pet hair and dirt and dust from my carpets and bare floors. I use the removable hand vacuum cleaner within this product to clean up crumbs off of my sofa and it works very well. I am so happy I bought this product and I highly recommend it to anyone who like me needed something lighter to push to clean the house with to consider purchasing this vacuum cleaner. I think it weighs something like 5 lb. It's much easier for me to push than a traditional vacuum cleaner and I was looking for something lighter to use because I have many spinal conditions where I cannot push heavy things very good without being in significant pain. The Bissell Lift-Off vacuum cleaner is wild worth the price. And Amazon mailed it out to me in no time at all

For $60 it should work better than a broom and dustpan. It does not.It does poorly along the baseboards. It has a hard time picking up sand. It requires multiple passes to get a little bit of dirt.Using it as a hand vac is no better. It couldn't even get all the sawdust from a small hole I drilled.I just wanted it to pick up crumbs from under the kitchen table (hardwood floor). I thought it was doing an OK job until I lifted it up to get the crumbs off one of the chairs. When I picked it up ALL THE DIRT AND CRUMBS FELL OUT. And in case you're wondering yes, the bag and filter were cleaned and yes, it had a full charge.

This was a replacement for our prior Bissell which we had for almost 10 years. The handle broke so we bought a new one. It was unfortunate that Bissell cheaped out on the product by no longer offering the “base” or “shoe” to insert it in for charging. The plug was in the base. This allowed you to remove it from the base by grabbing the handle and lifting it up. Now you have to plug it in the top of the hand vacuum and unplug the cord to use it! What a PIA!
