The Mouse Mansion Kindle Edition

Okay, I did still give this book 5 stars, but there are some reasons I would choose the Sam and Julia book over this Mouse Mansion book. Although, if you can only get one, I'd settle for this! But the photography in the Sam and Julia book is clearer and more vibrant. I doubt that you can see that in these photos! Also, although the book content is roughly the same, the Sam and Julia book is probably more understandable to children and I like that there are occasional words in color, too kind of punch up the story. My review of the Sam and Julia book is on here now too, so I say a little more about the story and the book. Many things about the two books are identical. The photos are the same, but like I said, a little more vibrant in the Sam and Julia book.

Adorable book! Purchased after visiting the Mouse Mansion shop in Amsterdam. An absolute must-see if you are ever there. There are many more books, Sam and Juliet dolls, as well as furniture kits etc. available from the shop. I hope to see these become available here on amazon as well as this is a popular project in school classrooms. Making the mansions is so accessible as you recycle produce boxes and bits of paper and fabric. They also have many youtube videos designed for children to be able to follow. My 6-year-old granddaughter has watched them and made all kinds of accessories, floors and wallpapers.

As a Dutch expatriate, I was familiar with this book when it came out in the Netherlands. Last week, I bought the American version to share with my American family. I just read it with a 4 and 9 year old. Both girls were absolutely enthralled by the pictures accompanying the short stories. We spent over one hour going slowly over each page. So much to see! I can't wait to read it with my 3 year old grandson next week. I highly recommend this book for toddlers and children grade school age. Young adults and young-at-heart grown-ups will get a kick out of the book as well.And if you are ever lucky enough to visit Amsterdam, you can see the real Mouse Mansion on display in the main branch of the public library. Well worth a visit.

This book is adorable. It is all about little mice, how they live, have parties, many rooms. My granddaughter and I would play "I spy" trying to find various little things. Take a look on the page for The Mouse Mansion on Amazon and look at some of the pictures. Someone went to a lot of work to make all the clothing and the rooms all decorated and the structures of the 'mouse homes'. I know you will enjoy this.

20 stars for the photos. 2-3 stars for the stories. They're an afterthought and don't do justice to the WONDERFUL house.I fell in love with these little guys in Amsterdam's airport and remembered them as a gift for a neighbor. The stories are probably more appropriate for toddlers and didn't hold the attention of my 6yo. It's very basic language with minimal plot development.Let's face it - we're all buying the books for the photos, anyway. Kids are so visual that I know a toddler will be engrossed in the pages, even before she can read. As an adult, I've spent ages poring over my kids' copies!

I purchased this book for the pictures but am rating it 5 stars for the story inside. For the pictures themselves, it is less of an "eye spy" and more of a intricately created miniature. My 2 & 3 year old frequently pull this book off the shelf for story time. I love how there are small stories within one big story. This makes storytime engaging and fun for my kids and less monotonous for the reader!

Well this is adorable.Absolutely holds my child’s attention. I love the pictures. We want to travel to the museum - maybe one day! My daughter asks Me to read this book to her every night. The whole thing. We have conversations about Sam and Julia and talk about our favorite of their adventures.This book is a favorite.Trying to find more books like this with these sorts of photos in them. So cute!

The mansion itself is truly astounding, it is huge and decorated in exceptional detail with many touches of humor. You can return to the book again and again just to look at the photos of each room and you will find new details each time. The photos of the mansion would be great fun even with out the story of Sam and Julia. The stories of Sam and Julia's adventures however are very sweet and capture their lovely friendship and nice moments of connection with other family members. This book is already beloved by both children and adults in our house. I think it would be a nice gift for children in the 4-8 age range.

A joyous book, I was intrododuced to it in Dutch, so happy to get it in English.
