Worked perfectly for my 5.0 auto 4wd

I had issues with an remanufactured starter from O'reillys binding up on my flywheel & they kept on giving me the run around I asked for a replacement starter but they refused to give me one because it tested fine so I ordered a tuff stuff performance starter on eBay waited a week and a half but nothing ever shipped so I cancelled & seen the good reviews on this primier gear unit within a few days it was on my front porch installed today worked perfect you can even hear a the difference compared to the old oreillys remanufactured junk

We bought this starter 2 years ago for a truck that gets used every now and then. But the last 6 months it’s been having issues. Today we looked at it and it’s dead.

Put this in a -66 Mustang with a T5. Installed in no time, and cranks a heck of a lot better than the previous one did when it was new.

***Well, after 4 months it started having a problem "throwing out"- connecting to the engine when you turn the key. Instead it just sits there and spins without turning the engine over. I tried to used their 2-year warranty, but their website consists of "Hello, world". Nothing else. No way to contact them, and we all know how helpful Amazon is in such cases. Apparently they scammed their money and ran, probably to avoid paying for all the defective units (see later reviews and you'll see what I mean). Don't buy this thing!*** The thing to watch out for is if your (F-150, in my case) has 3 wires going to the starter, you'll have to change the wires around to change it from a so-called 2-wire starter to a one-wire starter (which this is). It's simple, but danged if I could ever find any place that explained how.On the starter solenoid mounted on the wheel well, you have to remove one big fat wire from the terminal that the battery is connected directly to and that also has a bunch of other, smaller wires on it. Reconnect it to the other big fat terminal. Remove the skinny wire that goes from the solenoid to where the starter was- this was used to tell the old starter to start, but now it has no purpose. Done.The second skinny wire on the solenoid comes from the ignition switch and tells the solenoid to close, connecting the battery to the new starter. So, power comes from the battery to the solenoid (not changed), through the solenoid when the ignition switch says so, to the big wire you just moved, to the starter. The new starter has a solenoid of its own built in.Once I spent half my life figuring that out, and holding my breath when I tried it, it started on the first crank. And this starter is much larger than the old one, and cranks FAST.

I am very happy with it. It was pull out of the box, painted and installed.

Starter is making huge noise and big white smoke coming out of it that bad because i was in need of that starter for my truck for work and now it push me 1-2 week further i have to wait for another starter
