The best for my goldies
I love how effective this buffer is. It doesn’t cloud the water and helps keep my ph at 7.4-7.5. I use 4 teaspoons for my 65 gallon tank.

Use this, goldfish like hard water
This is great product. It dissolves in the water easily. My tap water I tested is about a 30 dKH, way too soft for goldfish and mystery snails that like the alkalinity closer to a 150 dKH. The only issue is the lid was off when I received it and the product had spilled out in the box. I was able to pour it all back into container, looked like a clean box. The shippers need to tape the lid or check it’s secure before shipping. So 5 stars for the product, 1 star for the shipping.

Helps raise KH thereby stabilizing PH
If your tap water has low KH your tank can be prone to huge PH swings. This is what was happening with mine. I add this during and between water changes and my water has been much more stable.

This is a great buffer
I do not understand the other weird reviews for this product, it does exactly what it is intended to do and I have been using it for the past year with great results. If you have soft water, meaning your KH is low which in turn can create an unstable PH, using a half dose of Gold Buffer will add the needed minerals to stabilize your water and keep your PH steady. If you have a very low PH along with soft water, this will bring your PH up to around 7.8 - 8.2 if used at the full dose. You should know the values for your PH, KH, and GH for both your tap water and your tank water before using any sort of buffers or attempting to change the PH in any way. Buy a test kit, and research this subject before testing products out.In most cases, having a PH that is lower or higher than the "ideal" range for your fish is perfectly acceptable. It is much safer and easier on your fish to leave it as is, as opposed to adding a bunch of stuff to your tank blindly. You should only need a buffer if your PH is unstable due to low KH or if your water is very acidic (under 6.8 for goldfish).

Works too well...
I had similar problems as other people having my pH jump to 8.2 I had to do two 80% water changes to get my pH to the desired 7.8 I mean it dose raise pH but I would recommend using low doses (around 1/8 teaspoons) untill you reach your desired ph

Fishy Fishy Fishy
This product is a must have! Useful anytime a new tank is set-up, change of water, or whenever the chemistry gets a bit wacky! *Always double check all chemicals before adding anything! A big change, some fish -slight changes, can potentially kill your fish! So, it's best to slowly add the buffer. I've enjoyed this product. Has made keeping the chemicals in the fish tank in balance way easier than without.
