Luvay Guitar Mini Amplifier (5 Watt) with Power Adapter

I was surprised by how heavy and well-made the amp is. It runs on a 9v battery and came with an AC power adapter and durable carry strap.But after extensive testing and comparison with the Danelectro Honeytone 1.5 watt amp with a 2.5" speaker that I have had for decades and that I bought for around the same price, the supposedly 5 watt Luvay Guitar Mini Amplifier with a 3" speaker proved to be no louder than the Honeytone, which was disappointing, so I returned it for a refund. I thought a 5 watt amp would be much louder than a 1.5 watt amp, but at least in this case it was not.The Honeytone also runs on a 9v battery or AC power adapter. Both amps have a belt clip and headphone/line out, but the Honeytone doesn't have clips for a shoulder strap.Although physically the Luvay amp seems more durable than the Honeytone, if you want a small cheap mini amp I would recommend the Honeytone over the Luvay for the sole reason that the overdrive on the Luvay is a button--on/off, whereas on the Honeytone it is a knob so that you can control the amount of overdrive.

Plugged it in and it instantly smoked

Not ever one star.It powered on, but no sound would come out.

I unboxed this amplifier and plugged it in as described, it did not produce any sound once plugged into my guitar, and it even started to produce smoke as I left it plugged in, terrible product, would not recommend buying from this seller again.

When I plugged this item in to my guitar- before I could play it- the amp started smoking. I got this as a gift, so until now I didn't know how bad it could be. Luckily there wasn't any damage to anything but the amp itself, but seriously, I wouldn't fool with it.

It never turned on. It just started smoking, thought it was going to blow up. Avoid.
