Beautiful Doll & Love The Message
I was so excited when I heard about this doll and I couldn't wait to get her! She has lovely face paint and hair, and her outfit and earrings are super fun. I love the message on the inside of the packaging as well! I know some people are upset her legs don't bend, but that is standard for the Fashionistas line and doesn't bother me. (I realize the Fashionistas in wheelchairs are an exception, but they have a Made-To-Move body and are twice the price of other Fashionistas.) Maybe they will expand the idea in the future and add more articulation at a higher price point, but I have no complaints about this doll for what she is. Way to go, Mattel!

Not a made to move, stiff doll, her legs do not bend
So overall I like this doll a lot! I also found her African American counter part on Amazon and bought her too (search “African American doll with prosthetic) as with that doll I don’t like the clothes on this one either but changed them. I also would like a made to move body and would pay the extra for it.The diversity and inclusion in this Fashionista line is why I buy them so I’m pleased with my purchase. I don’t collect them to look at we play with them. The dolls represent people in this world and people we could meet in real life and be friends with.

Wow! Love it.
Barbie really knocked it out of the park with this product. A great way to teach kids about diversity as well as to coach children who themselves face the need for prosthetic limbs. The prosthetic does remove so you can see that Barbie has half of a thigh. This helps to show kids that they are not alone. I bought a dozen and gifted to my local children’s hospital for use when the time comes.

Amazon ship dolls in envelopes! What a fail!
The doll is nice and the leg is a great idea BUT AMAZON STARTED TO SEND DOLLS IN ENVELOPES! The doll arrived crushed dented and torn. It can't be given as a gift in that condition. Amazon workers DO NOT SHIP DOLLS IN ENVELOPES! Use cardboards. I will have to send it back. Returning it is a lot of unnecessary effort harmful for our environment ( a lot of gasoline!)

Great for those with same disability
My 2 year old loves this. He has a leg prosthetic, and his leg is a similar length as hers. When I first showed him that she has a removable leg as well, he immediately smiled and gave her a big hug. He enjoys taking it off and putting it back on. I just wish there was a male version also, but my son doesn't seem to mind.

Love the initiative Mattel took...could be improved, but great start!
I agree with the reviews that this doll was *almost* there. I had read that Mattel had consulted with a young woman who actually had a prosthesis, and she provided the feedback that the prosthesis should be able to come off (which the doll's does.) The doll's face is beautiful and she is not afraid to show the prosthetic, which is awesome. Was disappointed that the knee joint (at least on the prosthetic) did not bend, as this is what a real prosthetic in that form would do, but a friend and I who each bought this lovely doll agreed that perhaps at that price point, a "working" prosthetic might have been a bit out of reach. Kudos to Mattel for taking this initiative...glad to have gotten this doll through Amazon, and I look forward to other offerings in the future!

Brings an understanding to children
Great product. Purchased this after getting the Fashionista Barbie in the wheelchair...Our granddaughter was very concerned about Grampy being in a wheelchair. He eventually had a below the knee amputation and is now being fitted for a prosthetic leg. This doll was a great help by showing her that Grampy is going to have a leg like this Barbie!

Diversity and beauty
First of all, this doll is very beautiful. Her big green eyes and red lips are printed perfectly, her brown hair is soft and silky. Secondly, a doll with a prosthetic leg is something comletely new to the market. It shows that every body is beautiful, everything is possible even when it seems it's not. One of the greates dolls produced in the last few years!
