The most fun I've had reading a story in a long time. I will read or tell it to anyone who will listen. "I kees you, mwah" is the new love phrase in our family.

I absolutely love this book. We bought it for our baby, who has no opinion on what we read to her yet, but I had a fantastic time reading this aloud and I cannot wait until she is old enough to understand it. Escargot is a charming French snail who wants to a.) get to the end of the book to eat a salad (with croutons and a light vinaigrette dressing), and b.) popularize snails. There are lots of opportunities for kids to engage with Escargot (including a moment where he agrees to try eating a carrot with the reader), and the illustrations are adorable. I highly recommend.

Purchased this for my nephew's birthday and had the whole group of kids clustered around to read it - in the middle of the party! Absolutely adorable, there's some great participation cues that had the older kids miming along. If you can do a French accent, I recommend using it, c'est magnifique!

I am an elementary teacher and parent and I read a lot of children's books. I got this one on the recommendation of our school librarian then instantly fell in love and ordered a copy for my collection. The story is perfect for a read aloud because it encourages interaction throughout the story like making faces or "roaring." Delightful! My kids were incredibly engaged and giggling the whole way through. The illustrations are adorable. You can't help but fall in love with this snail. Instant classic.

My 4 year old son absolutely adores Escargot! He loves listening to it and being able to interact with the story! My 12 year old daughter even likes listening to the story and has even beat my son to a few interactions which absolutely enraged him and then a fight broke out-but what’s new?

This book is a delight for young readers and advanced readers alike. The illustrations are bright and fun. The tale of this charming snail had us chuckling. Cute book. Held the attention of both a preschooler and an elementary aged child who is an advanced reader. We liked it so much that my children asked to buy a copy as a gift for a friend!As an aside, I secretly hoped it would encourage my kids to try new foods - I don't know that it did. Maybe that would work for you. But now we point out escargot every time we see it at the grocery store, and it has broadened my children's food saavy and sparked conversations when we watch Master Chef Junior or other cooking shows.Charming book. Recommend!!! Five stars.

This is the trifecta of good picture books, fun to read aloud, engaging illustrations, and a sweet message. My son adores this snail. He loves to “interact” with the story—answering escargot’s questions, stroking his shell, even giving him a kiss! Brush off your best French accent and give this books try!

My three year granddaughter immediately took to this book and babbled on so much at home to her daddy about 'Escargot" that he had to order a copy for their house. It has colorful pictures and lighthearted text. Just enough to be more than a picture book but not too much text for a three year old attention span.

Clever, witty and a nice way to challenge snail stereotypes obviously. There are a few 'interactive' elements which are simple and a nice touch. My three-year old son's half-french so the smattering of french words etc allows me to put on a ridiculous french accent when telling the story. I think I love it more than him, but he enjoys it too. Like to see more from this author.

What a fabulous book! As other’s had suggested, I read it in a French accent. Such fun and the children adored it, asking for it again and again.

Beautiful book.The snail character si lovely and charming and the story is very catchy.

Purchased based on reviews. My 2yr old isn’t into it at all; personal choice. Attempts to branch out from Franklin, Little Critters, Berenstein Bears etc. Weren’t successful. It’s about a snail that is trying to find a yummy salad and written to interact with the reader directly.

What an amazing book! Must have. Funny cute story. Great art. Captivating from page one with my granddaughter! Book delivered very quickly
