I cannot speak to the overload/overcharge/overdischarge protection since that has not come up yet. However, these seem to actually work to some extent, which is better than the tiny strip-style boards I bought on Amazon previously. Hopefully these boards will protect the batteries in the event of any problems.

I would advise NOT to buy these as they DO NOT WORK. Hooked up per the instructions on the page I bought them from, no go. Not to mention one of the boards is completely different from all the rest I'm not going to waste my time checking all 5 of them considering one of them looks like it was returned, to begin with. The holes were filled with solder that certainly does NOT match the solder on the rest of the board.AMAZON POLICE YOUR VENDORS!

I give this a one out of five because that is how many actually ended up working. 2 of the ones that didn't work only output 2.115 volts and the other 2 did not output any at all. Of course it had to be the last one I tried that actually worked too. Just my luck.
