Let me start by saying that if you expect this to be "high quality"...then you're just kidding yourself! It is clearly cheaply made, however you can pretty much expect that! It's a Costume for a dog for goodness sakes, not a purse from Nordstrom!Anyways, this is great! The color is perfect, the design is comfortable (as comfortable as it could possibly be for a dog!) he doesn't try to paw at it or shake it off so it can't be terribly awful for him! When I put it on him he just kept being his happy dog self so it clearly didn't bother him too much! And there is an elastic sinch around the head so you can adjust it to your dog!The only thing is that I wish there was a hole to put a least through because I will be walking my dog when we take my some trick-or-treating, but I just cut a small hole it it and bam, works fine and the hair is long enough that you can't even tell!Also the design is just a furry tube so there's nothing that would be pokey or itchy for the dog!I think it's hilarious, my dog loves the extra attention he gets...win-win!

This lion mane is really histerical!! We all got a good laugh with our boy running around the yard wearing this and taking our Halloween pictures. It was a little big on my boy ( He's about 80 pounds ) but it worked for our pictures & the laughs we shared because of it was priceless! Although I didn't realize I was supposed to put it all the way up to his ears. I didn't wind up even trying to put the tail on because his tail wouldn't have stayed in it, there's nothing to make it stay on, so we just used the mane. He didn't want to wear it that long, but we had it on long enough for a photo shoot.Either way it was still reall cute and worth the memories made. With Amazon prime it was here in 2 days and packaged well.

This mane is great! It's adjustable for the size of your dog's head (assuming it's at least a medium sized dog). The fibers are clearly synthetic when you hold it, but once it's on the dog, it seriously looks like a lion mane. We had some VERY curious looks from the neighbors. Once my dog was at a full gallop, I couldn't contain my laughter!It's not the kind of thing you're going to be able to use every day for years, but the quality is high enough to be able to pull it out for the occasional practical joke, holiday photo session, or cocktail party.All kidding aside, I looked into dog lion manes for a couple of weeks before pulling the trigger on this one and I'm very satisfied. The only way I'd improve this product would be to strengthen the elastic band that holds it onto your dog's head.

Well, this doesn't look much like what you see in the photo. It's nothing but a tube of fake fur, sewn into a channel on one side. A double strand of elastic is threaded through the channel, to be cinched up and tied. TIed! That is how cheaply made this is. The color of the "fur, is much duller than shown here, and the front edge is much more evident. It is nowhere near as fluffy orvsilky as what is shown in the listing. You will not get the smooth transition between dog and "mane" that you see on that Golden Retriever, as there is no way to achieve that looknwith what I received. This comes with a ridiculous "tail," which is the same fabric sewn into a kind of tiny sock, which must be meant to be placed over the stump of some poor dog's amputated tail (there is no way it would stay on the tip of a natural, intact tail). Can you imagine doing that to a dog? Don't buy this. Don't support that kind of dog abuse.

I am so glad I read the reviews for this costume, as well as all the similar costumes... If you are looking for a lion mane for your dog, THIS IS THE ONE. The fur feels pretty soft (and it's long, not clumpy or shaggy), and it looks like its a really decent quality. I have a 108 lb. Golden Retriever, and every single time I buy him anything I opt for the Large or XLarge, and even then it ends up being too small. I was hesitant to buy this considering that it's only one size, but IT FIT! and yes, the drawstring is great so it can fit a bunch of different sizes, and yes, the bigger your dog is, the better it will fit. I thought I was going to mind that there are no ears, but I don't- it looks great! I can't wait until Halloween, it will be so perfect. My free gift of a lion tail did not come, I got some stupid stickers instead. The mane I got is different than the picture, and its TOO BiG for my golden retriever, bogus man, doesn't stay on him, just flops around and doesn't secure. I don't return stuff cuz it seems like too much of a hassle, but it's too big for my big dog, and he's a big boy, (85lbs). I only gave it 2 stars because of the size, lack of tail, and also the string on this thing sucks, there is no way to secure it. Lame, just lame, at least I'm only out 11 bucks. I hope I just got a dud, cuz I might get another one, I really want to be dorthy for holloween and my fur boy should to be my lion.

Very clever, but in reality this is just a circular piece of stretchy furry fabric, about four-to-six inches wide. You slide it over the dog's head. And that's it. Well, it squishes down the ears, so you might want to cut holes for the ears to come out. On top of that, if the dog puts his paw on the fabric and pushes it forward onto his face (as mine did), it is off in about two seconds. Oops. No more lion. Lion quickly converts back into lamb. Makes a great photo if you can calm your dog for two minutes to allow you to snap the photo. After that -- forget it. But it' might be fun for a photo, if you want to pay for it.

As a preface, this product is definitely for the amusement of humans and not really about how the dog likes it! I bought this for my pure bred mutt because we thought this would enhance her natural lion mane and fit her quirky personality. A perfect match! It fit well, she didn't seem to be bothered by it, the color was a great match to her coat, and overall it looked good. The material is a synthetic of decent quality, but likely not that breathable, so we probably won't put it on her during our warn and humid summer months. I cannot comment on the little tail thing since my dog's tail has a curl and is like a little pom pom to start with.
