Beautiful pictures sparked the kids curiousity. Short intro to some interesting animals
My SO read this to some kids of our friends. The very beautiful pictures went over very well and most wanted to look at it individually after it was read and occasionally while it was being read :)The text was in an easy to read font and contrasted well with the page. Sometimes he had to explain a few of the terms, but thankfully they were ones he knew and ones with which most adults would probably be familiar. The second picture page for each animal was a little bit of a problem as the kids wanted another fact or story about the animal. Each page should probably have text to eliminate this problem. He handled it by pointing to something on the page and making an observation. The book was very short, and most of the kids wanted more. That's certainly better than them being bored however. He wound up going over the book again and making up a cute little story involving the animals. The kids had a good time. My SO felt the book required a bit more effort on his part than he would've preferred, but the interaction went well. If you get this, I'd expect kids to have some follow-up questions. For the really little ones, the story he made up with animal voices went over more than the info, but he tried to weave info from the text into the story. All the kids seemed interested in the lovely pictures. I received this at a free or discounted rate in exchange for my honest review.

Good book to read with nice photos.
I just finished reading this ebook Animals of the Arctic Tundra: Polar Region Wildlife. This book is full of large beautiful photos that are very clear and crisp and easy to see. Each page has a big photo along with a spot that holds information about the animal that is in the photo. When you turn the page, the next two pages are a great big photo of the animal that you covered on the previous page. There are seven total animals covered in this ebook. I gave this book a three out of five stars due to the following reasons. First, I would have really liked to see more animals covered then the seven that they did. It would have been nice that instead of the second two page photo if they would have just used that space to cover another animal. I also felt like if they were going to take up four pages for one type of animal that it would have been nice for them to include a little more information about that animal then what is included. But overall, the pictures are beautiful and it is a very nice book to look through. I would say that this book would be good for kids aged one through nine. Children to young to read will enjoy looking a the big beautiful photos and kids that are old enough to read will enjoy learning a couple bits of information about the animals. Even though I received this book for free in exchange for my opinion, this is truly my honest and unbiased opinion of the book, after reading it for myself.

Great Book!!!
An excellent publication addressed to small children that can be used for teaching purposes and as a source to share a good lecture with your kids. As this book is about wildlife and animals from the Arctic Tundra then it will cause an enriching knowledge for any reader. There were 7 Arctic Animals that were discussed in this book. The polar Bear, the Arctic Fox, the Caribou, Arctic Hares, Snowy Owls, Musk Oxen, and the Arctic Wolves. I am pretty sure that there are more than 7 species of animals that live in the Arctic. The polar bears eat seals but the seals were not discussed. I could have sworn that penguins live in the arctic as well. But for a 1st grader, this is a great starter book on arctic animals.
