Best intro to the Office
I have used Christian Prayer, Liturgy of the Hours, Divine Office (UK) and the Monastic Diurnal (Latin). As rich as these are, it is very difficult to explain this brand of spirituality to anyone who is unfamiliar with liturgical prayer or practice. The Glenstal Book of Daily Prayer very commendably fills the void of a short, single volume, straight ahead (no page flipping back and forth) introduction to morning and evening prayer that has no learning curve. This is the only book I could possibly give to friends who express an interest in praying the Hours.

Love the book
Love the book. Not too long, not too short. Perfect for my daily prayer life. I especially the section that commemorates the Saints and the Blessed Virgin Mary along with the three short daytime hours. Wish they made one with 4 weeks instead of two, keeping the same format. I bought this copy for a friend of mine at church. She uses it daily and love it.

prayer book
This is better than the first Glental Book of Daily Prayer in that there are more Psalms for each of the offices. Is an excellent Prayer Book; only think missing is the Saints listed by each month and day, so I use the old one for that portion.
