Well worth cost
Awesome product. Cost is worth the value and works like a charm on end grain.

Works as advertised
Anchorseal is a waxy liquid used to seal the ends of logs to slow the rate of drying and reduce the amount of checking in the wood. I had some fresh pine logs that I wanted to prevent splitting in, so I went with Anchorseal over latex paint as Anchorseal is reputed to be more water impermeable. I expected the wax to separate out of solution but that wasn't the case. It applied very easily, soaking into the endgrain. I was able to seal the ends of seven logs roughly 24" across and still have half a can left. A couple months later I've seen no appreciable checking. Summer will be the real test, but so far so good.

Stop checking
This stuff is great. Ordered some green Douglas fir timbers for a project and realized In couldn’t start for a few months. I was worried about the timbers drying too quickly and checking. Applied the seal to the ends of the timbers and had almost no checking 6 months later. Keep in mind I live in a dry climate.

Works well
I was skeptical when I first applied this stuff, but when I returned the next day it had dried to a nice thin layer of wax on the end of the boards. It went on white, but appears to be clear now. So far I'm happy with it.

Works, much better then their new version.
I am a long time wood worker and have used the traditional version of Anchor Seal from the beginning. It has always done the job for me. Minimizes checking and cracking of end-grain while the wood is drying. I also use it on the outside of rough turned bowls so the bowl dries from the inside providing a much decreased chance of cracking while drying.

Used Anchor Seal on raw edges of composite boards
Cut edges and ends of composite boards do not have the poly capping over the wood composite base. After reading recommendations to seal raw edges of composite deck boards, I sealed mine with Anchor Seal. It puts a nice waxy feeling coating on the edges and helps me feel that I’ve done what I can.
