Sukhoi Interceptors: The Su-9, Su-11, and Su-15: Unsung Soviet Cold War Heroes

Quality product great subject matter
Well I've been waiting for this one for a while. This is an excellent publication on aircraft perhaps a bit less well known outside enthusiast circles. I learned many things I didnt know like the fact that the SU 11 Fishpot was the fastest Soviet combat aircraft before the introduction of the Mig 25 in 1972 and in fact faster than its successor the SU 15 Flagon. The high altitude intercept attempts on U2 spyplanes and recce balloons were a fascinating read when viewed from the other side. As ever the nuts and bolts are well covered by these authors and for once a fascinating map of interceptor coverage of the USSR is included on the last page. I must emphasise that the quality of this product is the best I've ever seen with Its thick glossy pages and outstanding imagery. A bit more info on what these aircraft were like to fly might have been nice though as would a direct comparison with western contemporaries like the F106, EE Lightning, Saab Draken/Viggen , Phantom, Mirage III ,5, F1 . Highly recommended

It is important to know the subject once the book has been read.

Great all round package on the subjects.
Fascinating book from the usual go too characters/writers of Soviet/Russian aviation history, great book covering the early ‘Big Sukhoi’ Interceptors which are often overlooked and all there sub variants. Highly recommended and printed on nice quality glossy paper also. Worthy addition to any Soviet/Coldwar/Aviation enthusiasts libary.
