Not just for the Epson TM-T88V Printer!
Surprise! This is not just specific to the Epson printer like the item description says, but is rather a general USB-Serial adapter that would suit a ton more usecases. I am using this to connect a TRS-80 Model 100 to a Raspberry Pi, and it works every bit as well as I thought it would. I'm browsing the web in text, via serial terminal, on a machine made in 1981, and this adapter is mission critical to my very specific experience. It could work for you too. Recommended!

Works on TRS-80 Model 102
It's pretty much the only USB to DB25 null model cable on Amazon, but, hey, it works. No issues connecting my Windows laptop to my TRS-80 Model 102 at 1200 baud.

Not FTDI, Not a null modem cable
Basically everything in the description of this is a lie.The cable I received does NOT use a FTDI usb-serial converter, it instead has a Prolific part.Additionally, despite the picture of the cable-end internals which clearly shows control-signals wired (DCD, CTS), the cable I received has only 3 connected pins. Ground, TX, and RX. The actual wire used has plenty of conductors, the unused ones have just been chopped off.I specifically need CTS/RTS flow control for my older device. Which is part of what makes a null modem cable a null modem cable. At best, this is just a TX/RX crossover cable. What garbage.

Used for different purpose and rewired myself
I bought this cable, found that it's actually only for a specific device and not generically wired. It was a great quality cable, so I decided to rewire it myself (such cables aren't easy to find) - it works great now. Price was good, quality nice. Five stars.

Worked Well with Epson U375 Validator
I used this on some Lenovo Mini M93P Computers being setup at drive thrus with limited space. The computers did not have serial ports. These worked well for connecting the Epson U375 receipt/validator printers via USB ports to their DB25 connectors without any adapters.

Works for old HP plotter
I’m using this with a very old HP Draftpro plotter. Plugs right in and worked with no issues with RTS/CTS handshaking. No extra adapters or gender changers required.

Works great! Not just for printers.
I'm using this to run calibration on a surgical laser, and it works great. Much easier than a DB9 adapter plus a null modem DB9 to DB25. Solid build quality too.
