The Essential Conversation: What Parents and Teachers Can Learn from Each Other

I work with pre-service teachers and I am trying to figure out how to incorporate this into our classes! I dog-eared approximately 20 different sections of the book as things that I wanted to share with my students! She interweaves analysis and stories SO WELL! I could not put it down; I read this for work but enjoyed it immensely!! I highly recommend for any teacher or administrator.

As an educator, I have recommended this book to everyone. It is so important to consider what each of us brings into a conversation about; our children and their education; parent/teacher relationships; and conducting classrooms where everyone is included!

Really only about elementary school relationships between parents and teachers. Well written but repetitive.

Interesting read for teachers. Full of anecdotes, and wisdom from an experienced teacher.

Got this book for one of my classes in university and found it somewhat interesting. The book covers most of situations through examples but is not that useful for personal reading: it has a great potential for a discussion in the classroom full of student teachers .
