Problems sticking--possibly Amazon's fault
I've worked with gaffers tape for years on theater sets, covering seems, binding construction pieces together, etc. I've tried cheap tapes before, and they fall off, peel off, are hard to rip, etc., which is why I spent $18 per roll for this tape. It fell off just like the cheap tapes. I've used Shurtape before without issue, so it could be a batch problem. Or, my hypothesis, it's been sitting in an Amazon warehouse somewhere for too long. If tape sits around long enough it looses adhesion. When we applied this tape to our sets, as you can see in the photos, it peeled right up after being painted, like it was paper. We used it just like normal--like all other gaffers tape, and it failed badly. I may buy Shurtape again, but from a local dealer--not Amazon. I'm leery of how long this tape had been sitting around--also supported by the evidence that the shrink-wrap around it had lost it's malleability, and had to be peeled off in sections, which is another indication of old plastic or plastic that has been exposed to heat.

The Most Trusted Tape in LA Film Industry
This seems to be among the most common gaffers tape among gaffers on film sets in LA, so that’s why I bought this instead of the other brands! So far I like it better than Hosa and ProGaff, both of which I have used extensively. As a note to first time gaff users: know what you can stick to and what you shouldn’t. This stuff can take off paint if you’re not careful, but it does its job well and, used appropriately, is often the right tape for short-term applications.

Well worth the price
I have used several types of this brand of tape, and it has always done an outstanding job. The gaffing tape, although originally designed for use in the audio visual industry, has unlimited uses for everyday applications. If you want to REALLY tape something down, tape up and seal heavy material, or just fasten something that has come loose, this is your stuff. Consider it duct tape X 100.

Works fantastic
Originally bought this to repair the spine of a notebook (the tape texture was a near perfect match,) but learned about the myriad uses of gaffer's tape since then. Works fantastic, and tears into neat length-wise strips without any tunneling or tapering if you don't need the full 72mm width. This is a HUGE roll of tape.

Sticky when it Counts
I used real Gaffers tape in film school, decades ago. Not making film shorts anymore, but I remembered the tape! This isn't it, but it's pretty darn good for household use - very good adhesive without the residue. We'll see monthd from now when removed if my confidence is earned. But good price and so far, so good.

OK
Adhesive not nearly as water resistant as ShureTape Gaff of a few years ago. Still doesn't leave a residue (in my experience so far), but I won't be buying more.

Sticks but doesn't rip up carpet
I run nomadic industrial training events and move from venue to venue nationwide in everything from conference centers to customer locations. Since I have to keep trip hazards to a minimum but must have power for the training units, this tape is perfect. It holds cords in place, easily tears by hand, is wide enough to cover cords the size of my finger and yet doesn't rip up the carpet or leave a sticky residue when removed. Just what I needed!

Shurtape makes excellent tape
I learned about Gaffers tape at a job years ago and will never go back to duct tape. It holds well, has a nice matte cloth finish and does not leave residue when removing. We used to tape onto carpet and never had an issue with any sticky residue.

Really nice gaffer tape
I had used some Polyken 510 and got this in a different color to supplement it, but after using this I ordered a black roll to replace the Polyken. I was happy with the Polyken tape, but it is harder to pull from the roll and deforms more easily in the process as it has some stretch to it. Both are desirable qualities, but when a tape's tack is more powerful than its stretch you wind up with unintentionally deformed tape. This tape's tack & adhesive reminds me of 3M / Scotch "no residue" duct tape, which is smooth vinyl vs cloth backed and not as comformable as gaff tape. That tape is great for "no residue" duct tape jobs, but this tape is ideal quality gaffer tape. This is great quality gaffer tape, and a great deal when its price is in the $20s range as it is a large roll. The Polyken may also suit your needs at half the price & good quality if you don't need so much of it.

EXPENSIVE but worth it.
It's a $32 roll of tape! But it's way better than duct tape. I'm putting it on everything. The best use for it is to cover up brand names on electronics. I don't think my duct tape will ever see any use again.
