Excellent and lovely for camping or patio
This lantern has exceeded our expectations over time as a decorative and practical addition to our campsites. It has an ON-OFF switch so the battery-assisted solar charge is not depleted. All night long after a day under partly-cloudy skies the lantern will glow and cast beautiful patterns on the table or ground below. We have owned it and used it for more than a year and it still works reliably, and we do store and carry it in its styrofoam and box, as the lenses are glass. Now we know not to leave home without it.

If you want a stark white-lit, fake bronze looking outdoor light...this is the one for you
Summary: Had I wanted a cheap looking white light, with random patterns being cast about a short distance, looking like a cheap white industrial light, this is perfect. Initially, I was so excited about this light. I thought that the dragonfly motif would go perfectly in our backyard, as that is what I'm using (I have garden fans, and different decorative elements in the backyard, near and around the pool, with dragonfly designs.) Also, I thought the blue would look gorgeous against the icy blue of our pool, at night (with the lights on in the pool, too, casting a blue reflection.)Alas, it was not to happen. (#1) THIS LIGHT IS NOT BLUE. Did I mention that the light is not blue????? It is WHITE. As in STARK WHITE. As in, looks cheap and fake-y white. No soft blue. (#2) Not to mention the "light" cast by the led is weak, and only lights up the immediate vicinity, which leads me to (#3) because of the weakness of the light, and the fact that it isn't a grouping of dragonflies on each side, but one random dragonfly, large, per side, the reflections that are cast aren't that atmospheric at all.In short, a white, cheap looking, weakly-lit, non-atmospheric light not at all what is pictured and described. Don't waste your money.

Not as Pictured
I agree with Telyn's last year's review on this. The picture on the lantern looks nothing like what I received. Also, looking at this light, you would think it has sort of a blue cast and they do not. They are not very bright. I wanted them near some steps to get off my deck and they barely supply any light. I wanted these so nobody falls at my house during the summer holidays, but these are not worth the price and as mentioned, look nothing like the picture. Also yesterday when I took the top off to turn them on, the glass inside kept falling inwards. I had to push hard to get it to stay upright. Hopefully nobody touches these or hits these with their foot as then the glass may fall inwards. One plus, last night when lit they did put a cute faint pattern of dragonflies on my deck. Still would not buy again.

(Sometimes) Works but Dim
I bought this lamp in hopes of using it to light up my staircase inside my house which has a skylight that receives a lot of light. Unfortunately, the solar cell isn't efficient enough to do that. I really can't figure out how it was intended to be used. The dragonfly pattern that it projects is great but that pattern is best seen indoors against walls and smooth surfaces. But it doesn't work well indoors due to the solar cell. The single LED light inside doesn't seem suited for outdoor light since it's dim... any ambient light, such as from a street light, would drown it out. What I liked:------------+ Nice dragonfly pattern is projected (if you can power up the battery enough with sunlight)+ Galvanized steel frame is solid and doesn't feel cheap+ Weather-proof+ Comes with an optional stake to drive it into soil or the lawn (but you probably won't see any of the dragonfly pattern that way). What I didn't like:------------------- Solar Cell didn't work well for me (A bright skylight during summer should do the trick, but it doesn't).- Single LED bulb inside is too dimOther Notes:------------------ If you have young kids, you may not want to use this light either outside or in a play area. The panels (with the dragonfly pattern) are glass and could be dangerous.- I wouldn't use this in a driveway. I've had friends run over my driveway lights before. The glass panels here would make things worse.

Still works great after a year
I have had this over a year now. Still works great. I leave it out year round so the bottom is starting to rust a little and the sun has started to crack the paint on the glass. I still recommend it.If I need to get another one, I am going to put felt feet on the bottom to get it off the table so the water isn't trapped under it.

Nice light and reflections
I liked this solar light so much that I bought another. I use one on my porch and one on the outside entrance steps to porch. The solar light is not glaring due to the design in the glass and the design reflects nice images on surrounding surfaces. In Florida, there is enough sun to keep these lights on from dusk to dawn. Mine are exposed to the elements and I have had them for 6 months without any signs of weathering....this item is well worth the money.

Arrived Broken
I bought two dragonfly lanterns before and loved them. I orered another lantern and it arrivd broken. The glass was shattered. I did try to contact the seller but always got a computer generated email telling me to take a picture. I just wanted to send it back and get another replacement. Still waiting for a phone call. Never again. I have never given a bad review till now.Frustrated
