Simply...De-Light-ful!!
I'm a writer (day job and night job) and one of those people who has a difficult time functioning when there's no sunlight and I wear eyeglasses (no-line bifocals--so I'm super blind). I also get winter depression because the days are short. Suffice it to say, I need good lighting to see and for my mood. Anyway, I bought this house with a great separate office but the problem is, the office sits on the back of the house and gets very little direct sunlight. My house backs to some very tall leafy trees and I have two regular-sized windows so sunlight is scare. The office also has no overhead lighting, so I must use lamps. I'd bought a variety of desk lamps over the years, spent hundreds of bucks, but nothing provided the kind of light I needed -- sunlight. A couple of years ago I moved my office to the dining room and my office became the junk room but that became impractical. So now I've cleaned the office and moved back in.While I love my new clean office, I keep looking longingly at my dining room pining for the sunlight. To avoid creeping back in there, I decided to buy this sunlight lamp after some research. I saw a couple of models at Staples and Office Depot and searched high and low on Amazon and this is what I settled with. Price was not an issue. I was willing to pay more, but quite honestly I thought it was going to be another crap lamp that would end up as a great garage sale buy for some passerby. I figured I'd experiment with this one and if it made a real difference, I'd buy a pricey one. I was truly ye of little faith.Well, just set it up and OMG! What a difference it makes. I felt my mood change almost instantly. It seriously brightens up my entire desk and the light isn't harsh. It looks like sunlight. And everything looks just bright enough and really sharp. The lighting is not harsh like the fluorescent lighting I was using. It really is different and you can see the difference. I saw some people complain that the frame was kind of a cheesy plastic. Well, it's all in your taste. It's fine by me and I'm persnickety. I'd say if you want a lamp that looks expensive, pay for one. If you want a lamp that gives off exceptional light -- buy this one. I've had no problem with the touch lighting either.I'm writing this because I thought it would be some more BS that I wasted money on and it has truly saved my writing space...and my dining room.Amazing.Best. Purchase. Ever....well in the last week. Now I can enjoy my office and be productive. I highly recommend!!

Bad product bad switch. Get an Ott Lite instead!
FINAL UPDATE: My better half ordered a new internal switch and cracked open the lamp to replace the faulty touch sensor with a real, mechanical switch. Since I already bought a wonderful Ott Lite for half the cost of this hot mess, he's earned himself a free lamp and will be keeping it. So hey, if you're willing to purchase and install a new mechanical switch in your new lamp, this is the product for you! If you're looking for a lamp that works consistently from the first try onward, look elsewhere.UPDATE: My hand brushed the unpredictable touch switch by accident while I was painting, and the light went out. I spent 15 minutes straight tapping, pressing, grazing, used my fingertips, my palm, ANYTHING to try and activate the touch sensor switch and it will not light up. Bulb was removed, inspected, and is fine. 10 minutes after that, I hit the touch sensor with my palm and it finally came back on. It was really disruptive to what I was doing and I shouldn't have to finagle a lamp to work for 15 mintes. Shame on you, Lights of America. This is going to the curb where it belongs with the rest of the garbage. A lamp has ONE JOB, and that is to turn on, and off. Way to blow it.Previous Review: Sometimes a good price is too good to be true. I read some of the reviews about the finicky touch sensor switch, unfortunately mine was afflicted with this as well. There is no reliable way to turn this lamp on or off. I can touch it in the exact same spot, and there is probably a one and a chance that it will actually turn the lamp on or off. I've tried using one finger, two fingers, a whole palm, you name it. There is just no rhyme or reason to it. I bought this lamp to use for when I do illustration with traditional paints after the sun has gone down. It is very important to me to have good natural light for color fidelity. And while it does give off good quality light, stays relatively cool to the touch and is otherwise great when it actually works, the switch problem is a huge pain. Right now I have to unplug the lamp when I want to turn it off, and plug it back in to turn it on, which is not terribly safe. What I wouldn't give for a normal, mechanical switch!Unfortunately in my haste, I discarded all of the packaging before this problem became evident, so I cannot return it. I will be upgrading to a better lamp soon. What a disappointment.
