Promaster Multi-Function RF Timer Remote

I recently purchased the Promaster Timer Remote .. Code 4964 and the Olympus UC1 Connector Cable .. Code 1499. I also have the Olympus RM-UC1 Wired remote. When trying to take family pictures with the wired remote, it was a bit of a challenge. The cable was only 36’ and it was necessary to put the camera on a delayed timer and then try to get back in the group exactly where I needed to be before the picture was taken. Trial and error. No longer do I have this problem. This remote solves any issue I had. The remote has a very good range and line of site is not needed. The instructions have you put the receiver on the hot shoe mount and run the cable from the receiver to the trigger connection on your camera. When playing around to see what I could do, I removed the receiver from the hot shoe mount and used a Velcro strap to secure it to my camera strap to keep any strain off of the cable and connections. I was then able to attach my flash. This also worked well. This option is only necessary if your flashes are not RC controlled. Just an FYI, All of the flashes I own are RC controlled so I can leave the receiver on the mount and have the flash on another tripod. I own the Olympus E-M1, E-M5 and XZ-1 cameras and this one cable works on all three. Although the connector looks the same, it would not work on my Olympus TG-1. If you have more than one brand of camera, you need to get only the connector cable for the other camera. The same remote can be used. Promaster made it convenient for the consumer. I highly recommend this remote.
