Highly recommend. Easy to use. Parcel SB -100 Silicone Fire Blanket
If you don't have one of these, I would highly recommend it. I had bought one a while back and it is hanging next to our stove. Tonight I had just gone into my bedroom when I heard my daughter panicked screaming, "I caught it on fire". She was boiling water in a pan to get some stuck on food off, but didn't realize that someone had gotten oil in the stove eye (I think they had cooked pasta and maybe had oil in the water that boiled over). So the oil had caught fire. It wasn't a big fire when I got to the kitchen, but it could have been. I grabbed the black straps and jerked the fire blanket down out of the pouch and put it over the pot and all. It literally put the fire out instantly. This fire was probably small enough for us to have put it out with baking soda or salt, but that would have meant we'd have to remember where it was and have to possibly reach over the fire to a cabinet to get it. It was so easy to just grab the straps and pull it out. It was also easy to fold up and put back in the pouch to have ready for another use. So I just ordered one for my daughter for her apartment and a few more for others. I ordered mine through Amazon, but ordered hers directly with Parcel because I couldn't find the Small SB-100 on Amazon today.

Every home should have one.
Great product with strong references. Must have for consumers.

Great for safety tool
So don’t buy a fiberglass fire blanket-they shed fiberglass fibers. This is silicone coated fiberglass so no fiberglass fibers to get in hands, eyes. Blanket is thick and stows in wall mount bag that allows fast pull down. Fire blankets eliminate the mess of corrosive extinguisher powder. Watch for 50% off sales around holidays, Black Friday.

Great but need to be aired out
Hopefully these will work (I assume they will). Lose a star because...BOY are they smelly. Need to put them outside for a week or so till it goes away (I notice others have mentioned this).

This is one product that I hope I never have to use
I was impressed by the silicon coating on the fabric. It completely seals the fiberglass so that I don't have to worry about getting teeny fibers and shards in my skin. I wish that the case was red, however, like almost every other fire blanket ever made. When someone panics, they might not remember what the case for the fire blanket looks like.

NO fiberglass from touching
Parcil Distribution SB-500 Large Silicone Coated Emergency Fire Extinguisher Blanket: I am aware that fire blankets can be made without the fiberglass mess and pieces stuck in fingers and now I have one. The orange coating does work and is worth the extra cost. Opening the velcro flap and touching the blanket was a big surprise. All the other blanket reviews mention fiberglass all over the place and stuck in fingers. NOT with this model. Don't know why all blankets are not coated. Only a smooth surface with no pieces of fiberglass. Hope it works. . .

Every house should have this
Had a grease fire start in my kitchen, grabbed this from the cabinet and laid it over the fire. The fire was out immediately. Without this I would have had no way to put out this fire and would have lost my house. Insurance companies should send these as part of a home insurance policy.
