Perfect - no complaints
Exactly what I was looking for! I run an online business and go to only one expo show per year, but cheaper cash boxes were not cutting it for what I needed. It's oddly difficult to find a cash box that has multiple slots for different denominations of bills, but I found this one and picked it up.The unit is sturdy and seems to be well built. The drawer slides in and out smoothly, and opens and locks shut reliably. The drawer is a little bit spring loaded, so it will pop out and slide all the way out when you turn the key. I ran a low-tech setup, so I didn't use or test the wired connection to a receipt printer.Inside, you've got five slots for bills, that have good quality money clips to hold things in place, as well as plenty of smaller slots for coins and whatever else (mine easily fit all denominations of coins, a counterfeit detection pen, two Square Card Readers, and other small odds and ends). The slot in the front is a nice feature for when someone hands you a business card or pamphlet. I should say that space is somewhat limited in the compartment behind the slot, and when it gets full, it becomes more difficult to get things all the way into the slot. Because of this and the fact that the slot is fairly open, I probably wouldn't want to use the slot to store checks, which is what I assume it is designed for.The box is balanced well; even with a fair amount of change at the front end and the drawer all the way out, it doesn't seem precarious.Overall, it's a fantastic cash box. For the price, I highly recommend it, especially if you are upgrading from the junky office store box.

Purchased this drawer with printer and scanner.
We weren't sure that the items purchased would work with our POS system, but the price was right and with Amazon's return policy in mind we took a chance and made the purchase. We thought we would have some problems making everything work with our POS system - but it worked perfectly with out any complicated programming or device settings. It took only 15 minutes and we had a scanner, receipt printer and locked cash drawer connected and it worked perfectly. The only caution I would share is that if the printer runs out of paper, the drawer will not open - but simply put in a new roll of receipt paper and the system printings out the receipts that had not yet printed and the drawer opened. Always keep an extra roll of paper handy, change the paper as soon as you see the red warning on the receipt paper and you won't have any problems. The drawer is heavy duty and well built, the only complaint we had is that the bill slots are just big enough, there is no extra play they fit very snug, would have been nice to have an eighth of an inch play in the width of each of the bill slots.

Excellent Drawer for the Money
No problem with this drawer, immediately hooked up and actuated with the POS58 printer also found on amazon. This product is heavy steel, and features 2 keys for manual access. The front part (change) is removable, and it also features a slot for sliding in checks when you do not want the drawer to open. It also has heavy rubber feet that give it about 1/2" clearance above the counter, so it is somewhat immune to spills.

Dang good for the price!
... except I paid $39.99 so I have a clue why it went up $25 bucks or what not but this is the one I bought. yes works dang good and yes, it works off of the Epson esc commands via your POS58 printer which also worked for me out of the box with no issues so ignore those negative comments because its not the printer, its the end user, also your custum development works just fine with this via the esc comm. I just wish there was a way to adjust spring rates on it because sometimes it does not want to open but overall the drawer is awesome. if someone knows how to adjust the spring or whatever to make it stronger and open more often please share the details.

Nice cash drawer
As long as you have a minor knowledge of computers, printers, and installation, this cash drawer takes no time to set up! Make sure you have somebody on hand who has that knowledge if you don't. It works perfectly with our point of sale system. The drawer is pretty durable and opens and closes with no problems. Great value, especially for the price!

Basic Drawer
The main thing about this drawer is that it is a good, basic drawer. We finally switched from a 1990 cash register that probably could have run for another five years if we wanted it to. I had also tested a bigger USB driven drawer. These are my findings based on what I have used before:Pros:-Nice black metal casing (looks nice)-Printer Driven (most POS systems support only printer driven)-Inexpensive-Does not make a ding or noise when it opens-Coin slots have slits underneath to let debris fall through-Good drawer for basic needsCons:-Drawer doesn't seem to have a lot of power behind it's opening. It seems to open halfway, then we pull it out the rest of the way to get to the bills.-Bill slots are very narrow not leaving a lot of room for movement. When we have a lot of ones, the bills tend to fold up on the sides like a "U"-Coin slots (6) are horizontal which isn't a big deal, but not what we are used to.-Feet are only slightly adjustable, but don't seem to be made to adjust. If you twist them just a little they come right off-Our touch screen monitor is too heavy to put directly on top of the drawer like we wanted it. We had to put a piece of ceramic tile on top to disperse the weight

so far everything has been good and in good working order
so far everything has been good and in good working order. It has an extra slot for bills and contrary to what everyone is saying the U.S. dollars do fit in the cash register. They are thinner slots but they still fit fine! Its definitely a big cash register! It opens and closes smoothly and I like the key it comes with because my past cash register had a plastic top to it and the key would brake. So far i am very happy!
