Inkeltech Ring Light - 18 inch 60 W Dimmable LED Ring Light Kit with Stand - Adjustable 3000-6000 K Color Temperature Lighting for Vlog, Makeup, YouTube, Camera, Photo, Video - Control with Remote

Ordered this for a party, used it so that my guests could take selfies on the backdrop we used. Here is my overall thoughts. This light will change the quality of any picture, YouTube videos, tick toc videos, or make face timing so much easier. I have also used it for additional lighting while doing my makeup and to provide light in dark places in my home, such as my home gym or bedroom. I have not tried the remotes because my apple watch has a camera control, but that option is available. Pros 1. Easy setup and take down, did not take long at all, maybe 2 mins. 2. Portability is great, comes in a bag where everything fits, and it has handles to make carrying it a breeze 3. No additional parts needed to make the light mode change, which is great for me because I hate lots of parts, I end up losing them (some lights come with additional parts to change from colors from white to orange tones and I was not about that life). 4. OMG, the brightness of this light is life changing. Easy diming, multiple options on lighting and brightness. 5. The height is adjustable, I mean like really, really adjustable!! It can go from short to giant in a matter of seconds. Like all the way to the ceiling (well not quite but you get the point). 6. Sturdy – the product is sturdy and will not fall over, the quality of the material is great. Cons 1. The phone holder adapter … while my iPhone 10 xs does fit, it does not fit well with the case on it. Every time I try to put it on the holder, it becomes a full-blown wrestling match that I end up losing. Therefore, I have to take my phone out of the case, and while that sounds like an easy task, my case is extremely difficult to come off. So again, another wrestling match. (Please note, my phone case is thicker on the sides and that maybe the issue, I am currently looking for a slimmer case to see if it helps) 2. The phone holder adapter does not stay put! It easily falls off and I cannot get it to stay. While this may be a user error, I cannot figure out how to make it stay on there without worrying about my naked phone and the possibility of falling makes me have a panic attack. I definitely recommend purchasing this product. Good quality, fast shipping, and easy to use.

Highly recommend this is an amazing ring light

Let me start by saying I never leave reviews, this may be my second or third. If I got off of my lazy butt to review all my purchases, I'd be stuck on Amazon for days. And this is an extremely long review, feel free to skip to the end for a general summary of why this light is worth every penny of your hard earned money. That being said, yes, I am an avid Amazon shopper and I am about as picky as they come. I got this ring light because I make Youtube videos and I've wondered about the hype. That "circle" in the eyes effect looks amazing, if that's what you're into. If not, this light provides a beautiful soft light with a nice fall off, even when you use it as a key light for your videos or photos. Put an umbrella or diffuser in front of it, and you can get pretty creative with your lighting. The light comes in a bi-color mode, so you have a nice warm light that appears a bit on the orange side, and a cool light that's more like daylight. On max power, this thing is blinding, if you're gonna use full power, I recommend some sort of diffuser. Don't bother buying one of those "ring light diffusers for 18" lights", they barely cover the surface of this light. One thing to note is also that the light itself comes with plastic diffusers that you place over the exposed LEDs, so it's pretty diffused already, and then the brightness of the light shines through all that diffusion. The light itself is about 40 watts, which can get blinding, but with the diffusion panels it brings it down to maybe 75% of its brightness. Still, I really must warn buyers, it's really damn bright. Don't just use the remote to turn on the light and stare right into it. I made that mistake and my eyes wanted to hop out of my eye sockets and kick my butt. The value of this light is incredible. The package comes pretty much ready to use right out of the box. You get the ring light (duh), a remote, a light stand, phone mount, a cold shoe adapter, a power adapter, and a bluetooth clicker for your phone. They don't include the Sony NPF style batteries, and for good reason. Those batteries are expensive. If they included batteries, you'd pay more for the light kit. Notice how I said light kit. Right out of the box, this is already a kit, if you have to spend extra to get batteries, that's pretty reasonable! The light stand isn't the greatest, but you have to realize, most good LED video lights cost well over a hundred bucks without any accessories. I myself have spent nearly a thousand dollars in lights and that's still minimal compared to other professional photographers, videographers, and content creators. So here's why, after 4 months of using this light, I decided to come and leave a review: my light stopped working. Well, it stopped working half way. I can use the power adapter with it, which in most cases, it's sufficient. But once I plugged the batteries in, the light does not turn on. I tried multiple batteries, fully charged, nothing. So I remembered that Inkeltech has a one year warranty, but I couldn't find out how to contact them. So I went through Amazon customer service, who then sent me to the Amazon messaging platform to send an email. I was skeptical that anyone would answer because these sellers pop up and disappear on Amazon all the time. But I also know that Amazon does expect sellers to respond as quickly as possible since I myself have worked with coaching several Amazon sellers. To my surprise, Inkeltech responded within maybe 2 hours, if that's not great customer service, I don't know what is. I told them I had two issues, one with the light not working with batteries, and one with the remote being a bit glitchy. Right off the bat, they said they'd send me a new remote, no questions asked. Then they asked me to check the red led bulb on the back of the light. I responded to them, and again, they got back to me within an hour or two. They proceeded to tell me that the problem is the batteries, and I can understand that if the batteries were old and didn't work with other lights, I'd simply replace them. But I responded to the email, almost with an annoyed tone, that I've tested the batteries with my other lights and they work fine. I have to apologize to the customer service team because I did not realize I hadn't given them the info about the batteries working fine with my other lights before I kind of went off on them. It turns out my detailed troubleshooting steps that I sent to Amazon support was not forwarded to Inkeltech as part of my complaint. Inkeltech responded again, within minutes this time, saying that they will send me a new light. As far as online sellers go, even beyond Amazon, Inkeltech has earned my respect! I'd trust them with my money, I'd look out for their newly released items, because it's totally understandable that equipment may fail, but it's the warranty and the peace of mind that makes the purchase well worth it. Once again, if you're on the fence about making a purchase, this is a ring light but it can be used as a key light. In a completely darkened room with zero lights, I am able to shoot a Youtube video with this one key light and an accent light (powered at about 20%) behind me. The cameras I've used are Canon M100 with a 22mm F2.0 lens and a Sony RX100V with the aputure at 1.8, and ISO set to 100. The Canon is a budget camera that does not handle low light situations well, but the lens helps. Keep those things in mind and remember that I said I only used this ONE light as a key light for my Youtube video. I'm not a professional by any means, I learned all the technically jargon through Youtube, so if you're a professional level creator and you're wondering if this light can be useful as part of your kit, I'd say $100 is a freaking steal. If you're on a tight budget and you're wondering if this ONE light can improve your workflow and help you in your video/photo creation process, then my answer is yes, yes, and yes. The remote is a life saver, especially if you're a solo content creator. The one year warranty backed by Inkeltech is not a marketing gimmick, I know because I personally dealt with them. After I get my replacement light, I'll be making a full Youtube video review. Thanks again Inkeltech! Sorry for my impatience in our email correspondence. Bought the ring light after quite a bit of research. I do many video interviews and needed something for when the sun starts to fade and it gets dark or on a day when the weather is bad/dark. Tried lots of different combinations of room lights, spot lights and the like. Nothing really did what I need so this ring light was not too expensive so worth a shot. Super happy. In my case, I am sitting at a desk with the ring light on the other side of the desk and the camera and microphone in the middle of the desk in front of me. The stand is only ok, not super strong but not all that bad either. If you had to set it up each time it might not be the best. In my case, I just leave it set up and its fine. Anything the stand lacks, is more than made up with the light. The light adjusts for intensity and between warm and a cold white color. For me, I only turn the intensity up about 1/3 of max and I go from the cold white about 1/4 into the warmer color. It is exactly right and more than enough to light me up and the background (book shelves) directly behind where I sit. It looks very natural and the colors work perfect, no post production adjustments to color. That is the only light I need or use. I really wish I had bought this much sooner, it is the ideal solution for anything that does something similar. Since I could turn the intensity/brightness much higher I think the light would still work well from a much greater distance and don't underestimate the value of being able to adjust the light warmer/cooler. If you are looking and are going to be using it in any sort of similar way as me, buy this first and you will have probably just solved the problem.

I bought this product to have a stand and light to take videos with. My phone fits in it, it is easy to assemble and the light is bright - all that's great. My only dislike is the bag it came in. I feel the bag is flimsy, and not snug/secure enough to protect the light. It has no padding, so I feel I need to be extra careful when putting it away or storing it. This is why I am giving it 4 stars.

Holy moly, this light ring is one of the brightest I've ever used. It easily out-bright my room's 24-inch T12 lights. It gives my photography a different perspective. The light cover is a giant light diffuser so the brightness is evenly distributed on your subject. There was minimal shadowing on portraits, which I have been wanting to achieve but been unable to do so until this light came. The light temperature can be change from extremely cold to extremely warm by turning a knob. This is just so convenient and a great idea. The ring comes with a cell phone mount and a tripod mount to put your phones or cameras at the center of the light ring. It is good in theory but I actually thing they are quite flimsy, so I definitely won't install my DSLR on the mount. I trust my tripod more. The light comes with a carrying case, an power adapter, a tripod, and the light ring itself. The ring's base, which is mounted to the tripod head, is made of plastic and somewhat flimsy. I would recommend not to put much force on the ring, which may break or dislocate the plastic mount. This is also the reason why I do not want to install my DSLR on the ring itself. The ring apparently had 2 slots to install proprietary rechargeable batteries for outdoor photoshoots. I assume the batteries are accessories and must be purchased separately as they are not included in the package. I plan to buy the batteries in the future.

I’ve had my ring light going on just over two weeks now and I must say I am thoroughly pleased. My sister had purchased a ring light from another vendor and it came with NOTHING! And she had to replace the panels if she wanted to change the color temperature. My ring light came with a phone holder adapter, BLUETOOTH CLICKER for self picture taking, a REMOTE for the ring light and carrying case. I’m was surprised at the clicker, somehow I skipped over that description when I was buying. I use my light for various things and one thing I found cool was the key joke in the back. This is perfect when I hand the light up to a nail on my wall and use the “night light” mode in my room. The clicker and remote both had instructions. You would be amazed at how some vendors just send products with no instructions on how to use. The sturdiness and structure is why I have the light 4 stars. The legs fold upward and helps a lot with storage! The structure is well but could be a little stronger. Two things that also had a negative effect on me was the metal piece that joins the light to stand. It’s a little “janky” and loosely supported by a screw that applies pressure between it and the light . So if that or the plastic piece on the light breaks you’re screwed (I’ll show in pics). The other thing I didn’t like was the phone adapter hold your phone in front of the ring light, blocking light rather that being inside the circle (shown in pics)..I’m going to be purchasing another phone adapter that longer. I think the purpose of this ring light is mainly for you tubers and make up tutorials, but I use mine for extra light for pictures. I’ve been really into taking weekly and monthly pictures of our baby, but the lights in our house are not as bright as I want them to be, causing pictures to not come out as good. So, I pulled the plug and wanted to buy some more professional lighting sources to help with her milestone pictures. Since, I like to also take pictures of my pup (I don’t like putting my babe on public sites), I took example lighting photos for you all in my review. The ring light features a warm and cool effect, in addition to a dimming feature. You can make it as warm or cool as you want. Or as dim as you want. I put the ring light initially in my living room to just see how brightly it would light up a larger space, and wow, it looked like midday in our living room when it was pitch black outside. What’s nice, is that, when I was standing in front of it, setting it up, the light shining didn’t feel like it was getting hot. Or like I was getting hot. I didn’t want any hot lights on my baby or my pup. My next project with it, is her milk bath photos. I can’t wait to use it for this.
