Overall great with a couple minor gripes
This model is very nice looking when complete and it really has a lot of very good details and looks great when complete. It is very challenging, this should not be your first of these types of kits. Also, this is the only one I have built thus far that I have found tedious in spots. One step requires you to bend 16 identical little guns together and each one took a few minutes. That is understandable given that it is a battleship with a lot of anti-aircraft guns but it may trigger your ADHD. Maybe look ahead in the instructions and do one of those now and again between the early steps if you are like me.I found the instructions to be very clear except in a few spots.- The instructions have a legend that indicates where to find the pieces by number on the sprues. When there are multiples of the same piece, said piece is indicated one time in the legend and given a color, and all identical pieces have the same color in the legend. Thats great, but there are so many identical pieces that some of the colors are not very distinct, like this piece is dark green, and this other piece is slightly less dark green.- When there are multiple identical pieces it will tell you say B-36, which means look at the legend for sprue B, piece 36, then perform a visual treasure hunt on the tiny legend to find all the pieces that are the same un-distinct shade. However, it doesn't tell you that the same piece is on multiple sprues or just one. If it says B-36 you will know at least one of that piece will be on sprue B. However, they might all be there or they may not, there might be some on Sprue A or maybe some on Sprue C, who knows. It is a puzzle you need to solve over and over. Instead, indicating "Part 36 - 3x on B, 7x on C, 12x on A" would save a bit of time.- Carefully look at how the hull sides go together, how there is a rather severe crease you need to make on the hulls under the airplane hangers and lastly carefully look at how the stern needs to wrap around before you put those pieces on.I think the instruction problems with finding multiple pieces only manifested itself with this kit since there are so many pieces and they are so small. On other kits, with the same instructional approach, the color coded legend is not really an issue.

Nice way to kill time
It’s medium level of difficulty so took me few days to finish it. The red color really stand out and I liked the details they always offer

Only for the very patient, experienced modelers.
This is a beautiful model. It's a very difficult, but satisfying build. It's not for beginners. There will be frustrations along the way like broken pieces, but the final product is very rewarding and looks great. Also, the price is very reasonable for building the Yamato.

My favorite so far!
This is absolutely my favorite metal earth model kit I’ve built so far, and I’m up to about a dozen or so. The detail is awesome, the colors are amazing, and the assembly order is much better than the USS Missouri. (though I like that one too) looks really great. If it’s you’re first one I’d recommend a different one first to get the hang of it because this one has many small rounded parts, and you really wanna make this one look good cause when done right - it does.I can’t give 5 stars for ease of assembly because it’s not supposed to, they need to change that rating name.FYI - for the angled stand I just used the scrap metal frame that the stand pieces came with.

Good model
Overall it was a fun and challenging model to build but there were a few things and instructions that were either not clear or could have been assembled in an easier way

Better have good near vision
You need very good eyesight to see the small tabs to put in the slots. You also can't futz around with it too much trying to get the tabs to align with the slots or the metal will break. I have ok near vision but it would go blurry after an hour of assembly. I would recommend trying an easier model first to see if you like this type of model. I would not give this as a gift unless you know the recipient is a fan of these types of models and has experience building them.

HORRID
Too much ch $$ for a flimsy. Basically, you have to be a rocket scientist to put this thing together. I sent it back.

looks awesome, as long as dont notice mistakes I made while assembling
This thing looks great, I like how there's color on it, makes it look way better compared to other models that's just plain steel colored. With all these Facination metal models I built so far, it still is not easy to assemble. Also for this one, if you dont use super glue, the gun barrels will flop around. It was really nice that the barrels are a seperate part. They have models where you need to roll a tiny cylinder from sheet metal the size of those barrels, and let me tell you then its difficult and looks awful. Luckily the berrels here are a whole part
