Fans of the game will find some catharsis just in seeing Max and Chloe together again, but the care the author made in bringing them back to life is tremendously well done. Though it remains to be seen if this series could stand in its own, so far its been a real treat to read. I anxiously await the next issue. Review: "Life is Strange" Issue #2- The journey takes its first dark, devastatingly emotional turn... - After over a month of waiting, writer Emma Vieceli's "Life is Strange" comic-book quasi-sequel continues on with this second installment. And as someone who enjoyed the first issue while still admitting some minor faults it had, that wait has paid off. Issue #2 builds off of the first in exquisite fashion, taking the journey of Max Caulfield and Chloe Price in startling new directions, while also giving us the first dark and devastatingly emotional turn in the story... Picking up on the heels of the first issue's cliffhanger, "Life is Strange" #2 finds Max and Chloe on the road to the ravaged Arcadia Bay in search of answers. Max has been uncontrollably leaping between different timelines, and Chloe is determined to help her in any way possible. But it quickly comes to light that this journey may be too much for the two to bear... Especially Chloe, who is still struggling to come to terms with her mother's death one year prior. I don't want to spoil too much, but what I can say is that if issue #2 is any indication, fans of the series are in for an emotional powerhouse by the time this one-shot is complete. There's so much delightfully dreary pain and pathos in the pages of this issue, and it's just heartbreaking to read as a fan of the original game. But heartbreaking in all the right ways, of course! Vieceli's writing is top-notch, and she really gets the characters of Max and Chloe and what makes them tick. Beyond that, the artwork is just gorgeous, the use of color is keen and vivid, and the pacing is tight and concise. You'll zoom right through the issue and then immediately want to read it again and again. All in all, issue #2 takes the solid set-up of the prior installment, and builds off of it in the best way possible. And I just can't wait to read #3. (Fingers crossed there won't be another delay!) Issue #2 easily earns a perfect 5 out of 5 from me as a fan of the original game.

Great illustrations but thats about it
I was really looking forward to this but I'm disappointed in the direction it is taking. The illustrations and dialogue are on point, but the story itself is just a nonsensical rehash. I was hoping for an original story.
