COLIBYOU Espresso Dosing Funnel, Stainless Steel Dosing Ring (58mm)

After looking at a lot of dosing funnels I went for this one because of its price and its construction from stainless steel rather than aluminum. My machine is a Breville BES900XL with 58mm portafilters, and so far this funnel does exactly what I hoped.Unlike some funnels, this one sits over the edges of the portafilter rather than inside. This means it does not fit completely snugly and rattles slightly during use, but this does not seem to affect how it works and also means no coffee remains on the funnel when it's removed.I was getting a lot of grinds outside the basket using my new commercial-style grinder but this funnel has fixed that. My routine is now to grind, weight, tap to distribute (toothpick method would work fine too), then remove the funnel before grooming and tamping. One in ten times I'll get some grinds falling where I don't want them but mostly it's perfect. It's made distribution and cleanup a lot easier, and that has made me happy!

Fits perfect on my group head. My grinder always makes a little mount in the center of the group head and spreading it to evenly distribute the grinds would make a mess. Now, I just tap the group head for the grinds to more or less evenly spread out. Easy to tamp down without spilling the beans.Stainless steel, machined out of single piece.

This dosing funnel is extremely well made. The funnel is, as advertised, SS with a beautiful chrome finish and it is surprisingly heavy. The workmanship is outstanding and would be a beautiful addition to one's coffee gear. It will last a life time.One very minor complaint would be the fit. This funnel does not snap on or fix to you filter basket. It simply rest on top and loosely. So you have to be careful with your movements and filling the filter basket. This is why I gave it only 4 stars.I will say overall I am very pleased with how this funnel works and I am very happy with the quality and workman ship!Tony

Why didn't I have this years ago?! I've been wiping up loose grinds from my Mazer grinder for years as they get all over the counter. I figured it was just part of the espresso experience. Then I saw this in a Facebook group and ordered one. OMG...no more waste, no more mess. Works perfectly with my grinder and Rocket portafilter.It's heavy, thick, stays in place for tamping. A very simple device that makes a huge difference. I would give it ten stars if I could.

Great idea. Always has been difficult coordinating the last few grams into the portafilter before tamping. This item doesn't waste coffee and keeps things neat. No spillover to deal with. I like that it is durable and well made.

This dosing funnel is vey well made and beautiful. As described, it allows for tamping with the funnel. It sits rather loosely on the portafilter, but I don't see that to be a problem. Important are the dimensions: funnel wides to about 78 mm, so the funnel is a bit wider than the 58 mm portafilter. The funnel is only 10 mm taler than the portafilter, leaving too big of a gap to the mouth of the grinder (Baratza Sette 30). So I am returning this for a "TALL coffee dosage cylinder" in order to keep my counter clean from coffee ground.

I have a gaggia size 58 portafikter. The fit of this item could be better, a little on the loose/sloppy side. Excellent finish and otherwise quality.UPDATEIn actually use I am finding the slightly loose fit is actually a good thing. It allows shaking (ever so slightly) the ring so coffee goes into the portafilter :)

Not for Baratza Sette 270 Wi. It is not compatible with the built-in acaia scale. Too high. Tried several arrangements but it never fit properly and I still had grounds all over my kitchen. This is for my specific grinder setup, I cannot comment on others. Too tied up to return.
