First time review. Better than expected!
This will be my first review of any product, ever. I was concerned with what quality product I would receive based on the price, but I am very impressed. After I burned a few holes in my exhaust (the reason behind my purchase) I thought I may have started out with the high setting so I got a scrap piece of pipe and tested to see what setting I was on. Burned a hole in an 1/8 inch pipe very easily so I turned the switch over to two. The fan speed kicked up and the hum of the welder got deeper and when the rod arched the crackle was louder and there was a hole in the pipe almost instantly. You have to move quickly with this thing on thin steel or it will look like swiss cheese. I am very impressed with the power this little thing has and I like how it is small and lightweight. Once I got the speed down it worked just like any stick welder you would buy at the "orange" or "blue" store for three times the price. Very impressed and very pleased with the power. The last time I welded my exhaust I borrowed a 100 pound wire feed from a friend and had to turn up the amperage to about half before it started to weld as good as this welder on the lower setting. And it was 240 volt.It did overheat on me a couple times, but it was 90 degrees out and only took a minute or two before the light shut off and it was ready to go again. Perfect welder for little odd jobs and much better product than what I expected to get. Now I can buy a good mask and hammer with all the money I saved.Very happy with this purchase. It was here in two days and of course free shipping with prime.

Doesn't weld at all
I purchased this welder and the 3/32 welding sticks. The welder would not even weld the sticks. That's how bad it is......... I have experience on more powerful welders. But wanted a 110 volt welder for the convenience and not having to worry about 220v. I tried it out and within 30 minutes decided this thing needs to be sent back

Sent it back
Needed welder for welding rails to metal posts for my entrance fence. Knew this was an entry level welder but I only need one occasionally. Upon opening the box the over temp light was dangling from front panel. Owners manual is terrible with microscopic print and incomplete, as it doesn't even tell you what the two power levels power output is. When I took it to the field the cables were not long enough to reach the top rail, nor was the grounding clamp large enough to clamp the 2" pipe. No problem I attached a metal clamp and brought out a platform. My first generator was 4000 watt, 15 amp circuits. Not even close to being able to get an arc started, as the welder drew the generator down and all I could do was stick. I went back and got my house generator which runs 7500 watt, 9500 peak, and finally I was able to get an arc and start welding. (6013 Hobart). But then the welder starting popping the 20A circuit breakers on the generator, sometimes when I got the stick stuck, but sometimes when I was actually in middle of a bead. This happened continually and is why I returned the unit.I would recommend for very basic, indoor table-top welding only. And if you are a beginner, don't even think about using the supplied helmet which has no strap so you have to use one hand to hold it while trying to weld with the other. I honestly think there are better entry level welders available.

Stanley stick welder
Unfortunately, I have not yet had the opportunity to use the welding system. so, I can only base my opinion on the appearance and quality of construction. I read the owners manual and it's very heavy on safety factors which are very important to keep in mind when dealing with a tool that delivers 100 amps of current. Hopefully I will have all the peripheral elements I need to use the welder and I can amend my experiences with the machine at that time. I have a great deal of confidence in STANLEY tools since one of the first I ever bought was a Stanley bench plane which I still use today 60 years later... more to come

Five Stars
I've had this a few months and have gone through 20lbs of sticks. It still runs like brand new. Only thing is that the cables are to small of a gauge, I took them off and replaced them with very large jumper cables. Now they don't get hot and strike a weld very easily. This is an excellent welder and can be used professionally by just changing out the cables. I can weld continuously for 30min without anything getting hot. The other day I welded together a cart which took 10hrs and it's still running like new. Also it welds much thicker than 1/8" steel too. It will not will NOT weld aluminum. Other than that it is excellent. I couldn't be happier. If you need to weld aluminum and you don't know much about welding, take your aluminum to a welder. If you do know, then you know you need a MIG welder.

I love this unit I just used this as practice as first time welder. Trust me I was skeptical to it's functioning as the applied 1 square inchsteel post I butchered (for practice) to see if I can reweld the pieces back together for a rusted wrought iron post replacement project on Sunday together was giving me a hard time but ( REMEMBER MY FIRST TIME) took several passes with really no burn through I mean trust me needs grinding down but I was extreme happy that this steel post did not burn through as the thickness I should say thiness of the post is only 1/32 inch I AM SO HAPPY. quick passes or slow passes with this unit no big deal you get the hang of it when it starts warming up really starts cookin. YES THIS WELDS 1/32 INCH THIN STEEL SOOOOOOO HAPPY. ( very helpful this unit comes with ad helmet which was was great i didnt have to buy additional stuff but trust me its real dark and you cant see the piece your welding get a real helmet for about $70 amazon) GOD FORBID CAN GO BLIND ......ALSO WEAR GOGGLES UNDERNEATH THE AD HELMET TRUST ME!!!!!!
