A must for ftc teams
This is a great book for ftc teams. In one place you will find lots of information needed to kick off the ftc journey. Last year was our rookie year, and I wish this book was available then; it contains the essentials of every major topic that you would likely want to know. It has a great overview on the different mechanical build systems and commmon design mechanisms. This year we are planning to invest in a set of mechanum wheels, and the mechanum wheels chapter in the book really saved us a lot of time and effort. In addition, it has several sections dedicated to programming and working with java, so as to get teams started with basic robot programming. It is a great book jam-packed with tons of useful information and I highly recommend this book for ftc teams.

Must read for FTC teams
This is a book written by two authors who are determined to teach FTC students actual engineering skills in addition to helping with the competition. There are chapters on mechanical components such as different types of gears and drives complete with pictures and step by step instructions on how to make use of them. There are several ideas and gotchas sprinkled through the book that will save hours of frustration and futile internet searches.I recommend all FTC teams and their coaches to read this book on a regular basis because frankly it is a lot to take in in a single reading.

Well Structured Book. Must for coaches and students taking part in First Tech Challenge
My son is participating in the First Tech Challenge. This is his first year and I wanted a book that would help me understand FTC better. 'Your guide to excel ..' does exactly that - gives you great guidance. Also, the book is structured well, so easy to follow. There are lots of pictures to help you understand the concepts in the book. I highly recommend this book for coaches and students taking part or wanting to take part in First Tech Challenge.

Great Book
The book had a lot of pictures with clear explanations of mechanisms shown. Thorough observations of the pictures in the book are needed to replicate mechanisms.

We were able to go from zero to competition level in very short time!
I'm mentoring a rookie team so there was plenty of stuff to learn. The Guide to excel in FTC is full of useful information! It's mainly focused into the "robotics" part of FTC so we were able to build a nice robot that made it to the semifinals in the two tournaments of our first season. We ranked 1st. during the qualification stage on the State!
