InkOwl Toner Refill Kit Replacement for HP Q6000A, Q6001A, Q6002A, Q6003A (124A) (4-Pack, with Reset Chips)

Kind of disappointed in this refill kit. First I had to melt holes in the cartridges with a modified low power soldering iron (which required a special tip). No big deal as they have clear instructions on the web how to do this. Then cleaned the old ink out of both the overflow reservoir and the fresh ink reservoir. Inserted the new toner ink and then put the tape over the holes I melted in it. Then I changed the counter chips (these are supplied by InkOwl in the kit) and installed them in my printer.That's when the battle was engaged. The print quality was good for about 5 pages and then everything went streaky and toner started getting all over the inside of my printer. After cleaning the printer and cartridges and manipulating the cartridges to smooth out the toner I tried again. Same issues, streaky printing, colors fading and toner getting everywhere.Finally, after working with this for a full day, I took all the cartridges out of the printer, cleaned the printer a final time and threw the refilled cartridges and the remains of the refill kit in the trash. The time lost on trying to refill these cartridges is worth more than the money I saved on trying to refill them. So I bought cartridges that were already refilled by another company and they are still working to this day.Do not misconstrue this review as me saying anything bad about InkOwl's product. Their toner was smooth and didn't have any lumps or foreign materiel in it and their instructions were easy to follow. It may simply have been that my cartridges were too old or had an issue and shouldn't have been refilled. I am just saying that it didn't work for me and in the future I won't attempt to refill this printers cartridges.

Powder goes everywhere no matter how careful you try to get it in.

The pictures were bad. I had to get new HD cartridges to get good color printouts. My experience has been that black ink and toner refills are acceptable but colors do not work well.

Arrived promptly and as described. Still waiting for printer to run out of toner.
