Eono Essentials 13" Stainless Steel Splatter Screen

A member of the household has been requesting sausages recently and prefers them fried. The result without containment is fat splashing the front of the cooker hob, the controls and anything on the adjacent work surfaces. It's messy. Since the cooking falls to me I looked for a splatter screen like one I had years ago. I can report this one serves the purpose. The 'legs' on the handle help keep it in place over the frying pan. A little fat splashes out when the cover is lifted to turn recalcitrant sausages but can still be minimised by keeping the cover close above. For cleaning, we have a large enough sink to lay the screen flat on the bottom, when hot water, washing up liquid and a brush do the job well.My only niggle was an end of wire which had escaped crimping into the frame and I discovered it with my thumb before my eyes. No serious harm done and I snipped the rogue end off with side cutters.Amazon requests a rating for 'sheerness', but what is that in this context?

This splatter screen sits perfectly on my frying pan. Your pan may be slightly different.The build quality is great, and I can see this splatter screen giving many years of use.The wire mesh works well to prevent splatter, but it will increase the temperature of the pan, so food will cook quicker (not always a good thing, as my smoke alarm will attest!)The easiest way to clean it is to use a piece of kitchen roll at the end of every use. The fat will be still be runny and will migrate happily out of the mesh.It is too big for my dishwasher, but that isn't a problem for me.I'd recommend this one.

I wish I'd bought one years ago.Washing the thing is not a pronlem with a dishwasher, I wouldn't want to use a sponge and a sink.But otherwise, it saves lots of time cleaning the cooker and cooker splashnack tiles.Can reccomend !!

This appears to be a well constructed piece of equipment, the legs on it enabling it to be put to one side without marking the work surface. It is 13" wide so, on smaller frying pans, can't be placed centrally without resting on the frying pan handle. It's not considered a problem. Also can be used to strain food. Recommended.

Delighted with this. It is large enough to cover a big frying pan and is very strongly made. I needed a cover for a very large stew/casserole pot for bulk cooking. It had to be big enough to cover the pot hygienically when slow cooking, but aerated enough to allow steam through so the liquid could thicken. This does the job perfectly. I use it with the metal “stand” pointing downwards, which anchors it in place so it doesn’t slip sideways or get knocked off the pot accidentally. Would recommend.

Great item, as stops the splashes, very tough structure, and has feet to place on the work top. As its mesh not the easiest to clean if in the mesh ie like egg yolk, have to poke it out with brush - as others

I couldn’t get a smaller one and this one is a little to big for my fry pan so I have to lay it upside down to be effective but it’s easy to clean and does the job it was designed for

This is a well-made cover, using a fine mesh of stainless steel. It has a strong frame and easily covers our large frying pan. It easily stays in shape becaause of that frame. An added bonus is that it keeps flies out!
