POC Fornix Backcountry MIPS

Very comfortable. Extremely light, supposedly will protect my cranium ...I can't find a way to wear headphones ..

Amazing helmet. I'm usually caught in between S and M sizes in most brands, but the M/L fits me perfect. Super light and comfortable. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Super comfortable for me. Much lighter weight than my old helmet. No complaints.

Good snug fit for larger heads, lightweight helmet that doesn't induce wind noise. Good vents for heat control.

My head is 56 and is borderline M and L. This feels very tight especially as I like to wear a very thin beanie on my head before putting on the helmet. So I had to remove the padding velcro on the forehead to relieve the stress there. Either that or get the next size up. Otherwise it looks sharp.

The product is good and delivery is fast!

Optimal im Sitz,bequem und sucher

Me hice el regalo para Navidades y después de una año de uso, me parece una caso estupendo con ventilación, ligero pero con un buen ajuste y con una sensación de calidad percibida que es real.

Ottimo prodotto, leggerissimo, comodo e ventilato si integra perfettamente alla maschera retina big. Veste un po’ piccolo, se si è alLimite delle misure indicate scegliere la taglia in più. Consigliato

I have just received my new POC Formix Backcountry MIPS Helmet, in the 59-62 size, and thankfully it fits very well, and is comfortable. I have a large head and normally find that Large GIRO helmets fit me well, but so far GIRO have not produced a MIPS Snow helmet. I would have preferred to get the Receptor Backcountry MIPS, as I prefer the style, but for some reason POC only make a 59-60 helmet, which would not fit.The quality of the helmet appears to be high, with a well though out ventilation system and goggle clip. The colour is a close match for the pictures shown. The interior pads are of medium thickness and Velcro directly onto the MIPS layer. The interior pads, ear pieces and neck roll can be removed for cleaning, and for spring conditions when it is relatively warm. I have tried the helmet with Oakley Canopy and Flightdeck goggles and the fit is seamless, with no 'gapper' gaps.Whenever I buy a new helmet, I try wearing it for a couple of hours indoors, to confirm the fit, as pressure points will not appear immediately. It is easy to get carried way with looks or brands, and forget the main purpose of a helmet is to save your life. I helmet that does not fit is a fashion item, and will give a false sense of security. I really wanted a Sweet Protection helmet, but they seems to come up small in terms of size, so a 61cm was not even close to fitting.My helmet was labelled as made in 2013 (made in China, rather than Sweden), which probably reflects the low price, but it is brand new, and I am not aware of any changes in the last model year. Although I have Amazon Prime, my helmet took 5 days to arrive, as it appears to have been shipped from Italy.

Der Fornix ist mit dem Zusatz "Backcountry" eines der high-end-Produkte von POC und bietet viele features in Bezug auf Komfort und insbesondere Sicherheit (hier sind nur die Vollschalen-Rennhelme Orbic noch besser, aber auch schwerer und schlechter belüftet)Im Vergleich zum normalen Fornix, bietet der "Backcountry" das Sicherheitssystem MIPS, bei dem eine zweite innenliegende Schale durch ihre Beweglichkeit Stoßeinwirkungen mindert und zusätzlich eine Aramid-Einlage.Im Vergleich zum Receptor Bug Backcountry ist der Fronix BC das jüngere (2013 erschienene) Modell und meines Erachtens nach in vielen Belangen weiterentwickelt. Er ist 100 gr. leichter und das MIPS-System ist jetzt von innen sichtbar und der Effekt tatsächlich spürbar. Die Größeneinstellung (Drehscheibe hinten) sowie die Belüftung (Schieber oben) sind sehr viel einfacher zu bedienen, und sogar die Brille wird belüftet. Die innenliegenden Polster sind besser angebracht und der Sitz der Größe M/L (58 cm Kopfumfang) spürbar besser. Der Receptor BC (57/58) wackelte bei mir ein wenig und der aufsteckbare Brillenclip ist suboptimal - ganz im Gegensatz zum Fornix BC, alles bombenfest und erstklassig verarbeitet. (wichtig! bei Helmen unbedingt immer selbst ausführlich den Sitz testen - auch die dazu passende Brille) Nach näherem Betrachten fällt auf, dass auch die Riemen an den Ohren verstellbar sind, sodass der eigentliche Verschlussriemen je nach Passform ein wenig noch vor (weg vom Kehlkopf) und zurück justiert werden kann.Das gelungene Design des Receptor Bug ("Käfer") betreffend Form und Farbe - ich find's genial - ist beim Fornix ähnlich cool und sogar noch übertroffen worden, zugegeben Geschmäcker sind verschieden. Die POC-Lobes-Brille passt bei mir perfekt in den Helm und schließt genial ab - von der Optik ganz zu schweigen! (die Iris bug M war mir etwas zu groß)Fazit: Was Sicherheit, Komfort und Design betrifft für mich optimal und alle Features irgendwie noch besser durchdacht und umgesetzt als beim ohnehin guten Receptor Bug BC. Aber das muss jeder für sich selbst herausfinden. Ski heil!
