Game of Thrones: A Guide to Westeros and Beyond: The Only Official Guide to the Complete HBO TV Series

This will serve as a very nice collection item or a gift for GoT fans. The book is very well designs and contains great insight to the intriguing world of Westeros created by George R. R. Martin and brought to life by David Benioff & D. B. Weiss in what might be the best production in television history. Very nice illustrations in it too, and the books itself looks very good and feels good at hand. Highly recommended for fans of GoT fans of A Song of Ice and Fire, and Fantasy enthusiasts.

This is a great single companion volume to the Game of Thrones TV series, features everything you could want to know about the setting, principle characters, over arching storylines and specific episodes. The amount of text to illustration and photographs is proportionate, not too much of one or the other and its an easy read, especially for a fan. All the pictures/stills from the series are great to appreciate as stand alone pieces or as prompts to recollections of the series. If you are an artist or fantasy sketcher it is a good visual reference guide or reference. If you have not seen any of the series episodes there is content here which could be considered a spoiler, I guess that you could appreciate this if you have not seen the TV series (or intend to) and it could have an appeal for the fans of the novels (although I know that there are some very critical fans out there who do not think the TV series really captured the vision they had upon reading the source material). I like that there is a single volume covering the entire series as I did not buy the separate volumes for each season as some did. It does not make up for the rather lack luster finish which has been much discussed to the TV series and it does not contain any previously unknown or unseen content which could have redeemed it, which is not surprising and would have been a big ask anyway of a single companion book.

I LOVE the gorgeous cover with the shiny golden tree and the red leaves which conjurs up so many images of it in the series. The book is visually stunning with photos of the main characters, creative battle maps and other graphics. I liked the layout of the book with North and South, the focus on characters and their complex relationships as well as the plot of all eight seasons woven in. I would remind readers NOT to read the book unless you have watched the entire series as there are of course complete spoilers. There are a few glaring errors in the text that really should have been caught ie Varys does not greet Tyrion in Pentos-he travels from King's Landing with Tyrion. Sam and Gilly don't visit his parents in Oldtown-they visit the family estate before setting off for Oldtown. These errors are annoying but I still very much enjoyed the book. It is a very good companion to the series which lots of photos to enjoy.

This was a little extra Xmas gift for my mum, who’s a big GOT fan - she loves it. Unfortunately I also bought her the final season on DVD (she was waiting until it came out rather than streaming) and I hadn’t realised that a) she would plough straight into the book And b) there are a lot of spoilers for the final season. I should probably have realised that I’m advance, but I don’t think I’d realised it was quite as up to date as that or that my mother would be so keen. No stars off for that - that’s our fault (I told her to stop reading but she carried on anyway) - but just a warning for any other fans who haven’t finished the entire show yet. Other than that, fabulous and beautifully presented. Looks way more expensive than it is. Really lovely illustrations.

Beautifully produced, with lots of colour photos, family tree , character biographies, maps and details etc and a fantastic memento of the series - but not if you're still watching it as there are plenty of spoilers. I shall look forward to reading it properly after I've watched the final episode.

After having ploughed through a few of the books ..I needed something to help me along the way ..with regards who's who etc...this book did all that and much more .

I bought this as gift for a friend and she loves it. The book is very well made with good quality paper and lots of really lovely photos. It can be read straight through or dipped in and out if which is a great thing I think. She says it’s full of really good info which I didn’t check because I’m not finished the novels yet! I’m pleased I chose this one to give.

Excellently bound and printed with pictures of major characters in their finest costumes and in detail information of how every character contributes to the story, this book is a must-have for all the Game of Thrones fans.
