Sturdy!
Got this for my new mailbox I installed last month. Measured it up and installed it nicely. The size and fit were perfect and it was easy to manipulate.

Shows off my new red mailbox too!
This was so easy to set up, put on the box bracket, etc. We used no concrete, just the wet clay dirt from digging the hole and half a bag of small gravel. My son added a few inches of rock into the 10-12” hole, placed in the post; after determining the correct distance from the road edge and the correct height from the ground, he repeatedly added added layers of clay, which he tamped well and the topped each layer of clay with one layer of rocks. I used the level on top of the bracket and against the pole. It turned out perfect. It is not moving at all. I will add soil and flowers in a week to pretty up this area.

Great mailbox post although...
This mailbox post is very sturdy and easy to install. It holds our mailbox just fine really. It was very easy to bolt to the mailbox. I do however want to make a suggestion to anyone who purchases this mailbox post. If you're setting this in concrete as we did, you will want to drill a 1/4 inch hole all the way through the mailbox post about 6 to 8 inches from the bottom and then run a 4 to 5 inch bolt or a piece of allthread all the way through. Then set the mailbox post into the hole you're planning on putting this into. Plumb the mailbox post and then pour your concrete. Once the concrete is set up the mailbox will not be able to be turned as our is without the bolt going through. No big deal breaker though because knowing what I know, it's an easy fix. I still like the post and the mailbox very much.

We think this will withstand a groggy bear seeking birdseed.....
Living rurally, and close to a National Forest, we have bears that regularly raid our bird feeder. That's fine, but I wanted a more sturdy pole so the feeder stops getting destroyed. So this is an experiment, to see if the mailbox pole, sunk 20" into the ground with concrete; and the feeder attached to the mailbox platform - will work for both birds and bears. With less loss of feeders. The birds seemed to welcome their feeder back; so we'll see how it does with nightly bear raids now that they're out of hibernation. It seems very sturdy; and if this works, I might do the same for the hummingbird feeder in a month or so. The metal platform has many attachment points, so I think this could work with many styles of wooden bird feeder.
