Very warm and durable
This is a great doggie sleeping bag. We have used it several times now to backpack with our dog. It took him a little getting used to at first, but now he walks right in when I open it up for him and he snuggles down in the bag to stay warm and comfy through the night. I give only four stars because it is a little heavy and does not pack down quite as small as I would like for a backpacking sleeping bag, but I was unable to find anything that was made out of down at the time. For comparison, I use a Western Mountaineering sleeping bag that packs up the same size as the doggie sleeping bag and weighs about the same. Until someone makes a great down, ultralight sleeping bag for doggies, this is probably the best product you will find.

Compresses nicely for backpacking
I purchased the large size Outback Dreamer for my two Yorkies so they would be warm when we went backpacking. The Outback Dreamer compressed small enough to fit in my pack, both of my dogs measure 16" length so they both snuggled inside the bag with room to move around. So glad I didn't purchase the medium size, it just would've been too small for them. The open flap design was nice because it closes to keep the dogs warm inside. The design is solid, the stuffing material is a bit thin and wish they would use better insulating material otherwise I would've rated this product 5 stars. The bag is best used for cool spring or fall nights... definitely not winter where temps fall down past 30 degrees. Overall i'm pleased with the Outback Dreamer

Not insulated well
I bought a size small bag for my dachshund, who is 15lbs. It's a bit small for her (she has to be curled up to fit in it - no stretching out for her!), but she seems to like it. I thought that it would be insulated, but I suppose that was my mistake. The inside of it has a reflective silver lining, almost similar to a bivvy sack. I'm not entirely convinced of how warm this thing is - we spent a couple of nights camping in the low 40s and I stuck her inside of this and then put the entire thing inside the bottom of my sleeping bag to keep her warm. I don't know that this would cut it just on it's own, unfortunately. For the cost, I almost wish that I had gone with the Dog Helios instead - it's more sleeping bag-like than this one, and looks like it'd fit her better.I will say that it's pretty durable - the material is thick and construction is good. It stays relatively clean, even when she's dirty - I just turn the bag inside out and shake it out, and it's good as new.Overall, probably wouldn't buy again, but not the worst purchase I've ever made either.

Overpriced and Under-performing
Bag failed to keep my dog (large Australian Shepherd with coat trimmed to 1in. ) comfortable overnight in tent in 37°F weather. Thin insulation layer did ZERO to provide protection from the cold tent floor and after 3 nights of "use" in which I ended up sharing my sleeping with my dog there are several stitches that have come loose.Bundle this with the low quality non-compression sack that took up way more space in my dogs pack than necessary and I'm just not impressed at all by this overpriced product. For $50 I should have (and will) bought a sleeping bag with proper insulation and a separate sleeping pad.

Not great for restless dogs
If your dog likes to readjust a lot like mine does during the night then it's probably not the best option. I am a backpacker and I only bring this along when I know it's going to be especially cold at night, or on winter camping trips. My dog doesn't get very cold, so this does a good job at insulating if I can keep him in it. The problem is in the design of the opening. As the dog gets inside the sleeping bag the opening gets compressed, making it difficult unless you get an oversized option. Every time my dog readjusts at night (which is a lot) it comes off of him, and I have to physically maneuver him back into the bag because he doesn't know how to get into it himself. Had it just been a simple flap on the edge rather than 1/3 of the way along the top it would be better.

My dog loves it! I love it!
My 30 lb boxer mix likes her medium size bag indoors. It took a couple days needing a little help getting in it but I think it will work well for chilly nights backpacking. It seems very well built and showed no signs when she took a few gnaws on it. It looked small when I unpacked it but she curls up perfectly in it! I was worried about the inner lining being crinkley, but it's soft and keeps her warm. Great buy!

Nice
Very well-made product, if you camp in cold weather, this might keep your shivering dogs out of your bag! My only caveat is that my dogs are 18 and 19 lbs and the medium size (bought 2) just fits them w some room to move around, ie, 6" unused space all around their bodies when curled up. Enough room to stretch out back legs, but smaller than I was envisioning. I'd say if your dog is over 20 lbs, you'd better size up to large even though you don't have a large dog. To put it another way, my dogs wear xs in Ruffwear coats but medium w Hurtta product.

Runs a little small
Bought this for our 65lb Doberman. She gets super cold at night backpacking- it took some creativity to help her in it the first few times but once she got snuggled in she loved it and stayed in it all night. It make take a few more trips to work out the kinks... We bought the large and she BARELY fits inside it. If they made an XL size we probably would get that instead. As it is, we can make it work and it keeps her warm- and it sure beats a 65lb dog trying to snuggle inside my mummy bag at 2 am.

Good quality 👌
Pros- It is very good quality and its the perfect size for my 55 lb dog. It's also nice and light and compact. With a compression sack it would take very little space on a camping trip!Cons- the way it is designed is that your dog has to walk into it and turn around before laying down so they will be facing outward. Although, I was able to train my dog to do this, I can see it being annoying in a tent or other camping situations. Would prefer if it had a zipper to open in up some. Also, it's not super thick so wouldn't be overly comfortable depending on the terrain you are using it on. I guess that a sacrifice you make for it to be compact.Overall very happy with the product. Could just use a couple of tweeks to make it perfect!
