Excellent on pavement & gravel, a bit tricky to seat on rim
I bought this tire in 40mm for my cross bike for recreational riding mostly on dirt, going on paved sections to get there. If you have room, I highly recommend going with a 40mm for a gravel tire if you can fit them. The weigh a little more, but there's no loss in rolling resistance, you get better traction, they're more comfortable & because of the high volume, you have maximum range in changing PSI to suit conditions. After experimentation I use the MSO on the front with a Conti CycloXKing 42mm on the back, which is knobbier for the occasional really steep gravel climbs on some of my rides, but I could get by using the Clement for both ends almost all the time without slippage.Pros:- Fast, comfortable, roll & corner well. Even at 60 TPI, they're pretty supple. I weight 200lb and run them from 45-65 psi, with 55 being a good compromise for mixed conditions. They will drift a little in corners on loose gravel, but are predictable.- Relatively inexpensive in 60 TPI- No signs of wear after 200 miles- Pretty close to size at 39mm measuredCons:- I live in goat head country in CO & Fall is the worst time of the year. Though not as bad as some supposedly "belted" gravel tires I have tried, from my experience they"re definitely not completely thorn proof for the really bad ones, so I run Slime inner tubes. I hear they are planning on a tubeless version, which would be great.- They are relatively easy to slip on the wheel, but are a bit tricky to seat fully on the rim. I think that may be due to the design of the tire bead, which unlike virtually any other clincher I know of, has no perceptible lip on the bead to engage the hook indentation on the rim. The bead looks pretty flat with the sidewall. In my experience with this tire, that means you need to initially inflate it to the max to about 85 psi to get it fully seated & then deflate it to the desired PSI. It can "pop" several times in the process of inflating, so don't be mislead after the first one that it's done. I also put talc on the tube & bounce the tire a couple of times around the circumference at about 20 psi before fully inflating like I would a tubeless tire.I suspect the trouble a few people are having with this tire blowing off is that rim design may also be a factor. I use Ultegra 6700 tubeless ready wheels, which are relatively wide at 20.8 mm (interior) with a definite hook for tubeless & the proper space for the bead to seat snugly. Narrower rims or ones with inadequate space for the bead to properly "pop" into the groove may be a problem. That's just a guess, but it would make sense.

Probably my favorite tires so far.
I use this tires on my CycloCross / Commuter bike. Being 700x40 they barely fit my bike so please make sure you measure, for reference, I use them on a Motobecane Fantom Cross bike. What I like about them:1- On the road they are really good, I inflate them more when doing my commutes (to 80psi), and they are grippy without the feel of resistance.2- On trails, I inflate them 50-60psi, depending on the trail (I'm 190 pounds, so I don't like really soft tires), they grip extremely good and as you get to know them, those sharp turns will use less and less breaking, I promise that.3- Where they excel? When you mix it up. I inflate them to 60-70psi and hit a combination of trails and roads and they handle that beautifully, they are grippy, big, handle mud really good. I cannot attest to their water performance too much as I live in Colorado, but, in the snow? Oh do they work!Sincerely, the best tires I've ever tried, have gotten one flat from a goathead in 1,000+ miles of usage. Friends who commute with me on mud wrestlers and a bunch of other brands get a lot flats.

Great but....
Great tires. I've worn through a couple of sets already. However that's kind of the problem: they're soft compared to the Continentals and Vittoria I've run in the past.I've done a few overnights/50-mile rides in addition to everyday riding and after about 4 months the rear is close to bald.Of course riding with a load impacts wear greatly, but again compared to other brands these seem to wear quicker.Still great tires and I still plan to get another set when the time comes.

Fun Fun Fun
I swapped the 28mm slick tires that came on my PureCycles urban commuter with these. Best decision ever. About half my commute is flat pavement, the other half is super rough sidewalks and a little gravel. There are also many side trails and curbs. The Negative: So I lost a little speed on the flats, rolling resistance is noticeably higher than the slicks, but not that much. The Positive: With the slicks i was scared to veer off the path at all, go off curbs, ride through grass. I can now drive over anything, and it's fun to do so. Makes my commute so much easier and fun. It smooths the ride out a ton. I can also take my bike on some local dirt trails on the weekend. I'll never go back to slicks. I've tried 50-80 psi so far. Lower more comfortable, higher goes faster, both are great. The grip on these seems really high to me.

No longer labeled Clement
The tires great. But Donnelly too back rights to sell and now they have a different look.Same great tire, but it doesn't match my existing front now. And I wanted to try something else out, but unfortunately, far to self conscious on gravel roads to not match completely. As if...

I found my new favorite tire. I will report any issues
I only have two rides of 30 miles each on the tires. I replaced the tires on my Surly Cross Check that were 29 Gaterskins with the 40's thinking it would be a softer but much slower ride. The ride is so much nicer, softer and still fast. First ride was with 80 psi, all on pavement and they are very fast and very smooth tires. Almost no change in speed from the smaller tires. Second ride was on the Katy Trail which is a crushed limestone hard packed gravel (rail to trail path). The ride was so much softer and cushier them the before (70 psi). I found my new favorite tire. I will report back if I have any issues.Update:I now have about 125 miles on the tires and still love them. I will buy them again.

wear very quickly
I used these tires on a tour in New Zealnd and wore them out in less than 2500kms. tried a 2nd set and again they wore out very quickly. Great on loose surfaces but can't afford to keep changing tires! Won't buy again.
