New York Crosswords: 50 Big Puzzles Paperback – June 4, 2019

I like the New York magazine crossword puzzles so I was happy to find this book. The puzzles are fun and not overwhelmingly hard at all. I just finished my first book of 53 and will look for another.

Wish they would publish more like this

Loved the spiral and paper quality. These are my favorite puzzles for the fun themes. Not too easy; satisfying to finish.

I know it’s in the title, but I didn’t think the actual book would be so ‘big’ and oddly sized. Good puzzles though.

New York magazine has the best crosswords. This is a must buy

Fantastic crossword selection. Not too hard not too easy. Fun. Best way to keep occupied while on the throne...lol.

I was disappointed that these puzzles aren't challenging enough - they're on a par with The New York Times Monday crosswords. However, the constructor Cathy Allis has an obsession with puns and these puzzles reflect that. They have Sunday-style BIG grids and all the themed long answers are guaranteed to make you groan from the punny (and very often clever) wordplay. All in all, rather satisfying - but if it's a challenge you want, I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere. However, this would be a very good book for novice crossword solvers.
