Benchmade perfection, but a little small for my taste.
Excellent knife. I've had a few Benchmade and they always are fantastic. Very robust. Nice edge.I've never sharpened one myself, But you can get them sharpened by Benchmade by sending it back to them. They'll do it for your whole lifetime. The mini griptilian is a little smaller than I'd like. But that's exactly what it's supposed to do, It just didn't work for my size hands and my needs. It's probably at least 30% smaller than the full size griptilian. I ended up getting the sheep's foot this time. Variety is the spice of life but if you're looking for a do-all knife (If one of those points is that you want to be able to stab something or pierce something) The drop point is the better one to get. But if you want to not stab or pierce something the sheeps foot is the better one.Benchmade knives are expensive but they also I think are the best. they can easily be the last knife you ever buy but probably won't be because you will want more of them. These would make an excellent gift for any lover of fine tools and quality tools.

LOVE IT
I’m one of those who rarely takes the time to write a review…..But holy cow this knife is SO NICE!!I have a zillion knifes so certainly didn’t need another one, but this was the size of a SOG knife that I travel with and it’s mechanism became shot. The moment I took this knife out of the box I loved it! Opening it is “buttery smooth” (my son’s words), the overall quality cannot be overstated!Plus it’s the perfect size for my needs. Yes, it’s expensive but with Benchmark’s free lifetime sharpening service I plan on enjoying it for the rest of my life!

Very nice EDC
The Mini-Griptillian is a good EDC knife. It is not as big as the regular/large Griptillian, but that makes it less cumbersome when clipped onto the pant pocket. Sharp out of the box, easy to flick open and the lock mechanism is rock solid. Benchmade quality.

Most Pleasing-Ergonomic- Fun-To-Use smaller Knife On This Planet. Six Stars For Lock & Ergonomics
Four stars for light-weight but that is not a negative at all. The knife, because of the full steel handle liners, has a bit of heft to it. This translates to feeling like a Quality-Tool and is by no means too heavy; this is a pretty "small" knife. That about covers it !Buy this NOW before they forget how to make them ! (you think I'm kidding). For the best in drop shut / free swingness of the blade a fraction of a blast of WD-40 into the pivot. They use grease from the factory so the pivot does not swing too fast closed for newbies and some nonsense about "gravity knives" at the Canadian border. Oh and maybe relax the pivot screw a degree or two counter clockwise.Don't believe the clap-trap about WD-40 not being a lubricant (says right on the can that it "lubricates : . . .").Trust me; I am a professional : )I've also used thin instrument oils to thin the grease on many other Benchmades with limited effect.WDNow !Do it NOW !I love this knife so much for daily carry. I was sitting around the house on a day off and it struck me that if I lost the Mini Griptillian I have and they quit making them, as they have so many other knives that I really, really like (Benchmade blue&black WM 710 M390-blade) I would be lost with out this Mini.I made sure they were still available and immediately ordered another one. For back up.aaaaaahhhhhh crisis averted.I could rave for pages about how great this knife is compared to all those too smooth and or flat sided wannabe knives. Just buy one and it will sell its self.

Review Update
I ended up buying this knife (in black) from Knives Plus [...] since amazon could not seem to get it together for this purchase. The Benchmade Pardue Mini-Griptillian came reasonable sharp out of the box. It has thumb lugs on both sides for ambidextrous opening. The action is smooth and it opens easily with thumb pressure and flicking the wrist. The blade locks in place pretty solidly with just the tiniest bit of play. The "black glass filled Noryl GTX and Valox handle" has a nice tacky feel and is easy to grip in the hand. The only complaint is that the unlocking lug seems to stick a little and takes a little effort to disengage. This may loosen up with break-in use. A nice feature of the knife is that you can reverse the clip to the other side for left handed use. I did this since the knife was a gift for my son and he is a lefty. A minor annoyance is that the head of the hardware holding the thing together is machined in a star shape (don't know what this is called)so reversing the clip required a trip to Lowes for a new set of star shaped wrenches. I guess allen heads went out of style!Like I said, this knife is a gift to my son and it's his first pocket knife. He loves it, so notwithstanding the minor issues above the Black Mini-Griptillian gets five stars. It took Amazon 5 weeks to refund my credit card - story below.ORIGINAL REVIEWI ordered this Benchmade knife Benchmade Pardue Design Mini-Griptillian Combo Edge Knife with Olive Drab Handle as a Christmas gift for my son. When the box (FROM AMAZON) came it did not contain the Benchmade knife, it contained a game for XBOX Assassin's Creed and a receipt for the Benchmade knife. I called "Customer Service" and spoke to an Indian dude, in India. (HEY AMAZON, HIRE AMERICANS!!!!!!) The guy barely spoke English. He sent me a return label and I returned the Xbox game with a note explaining the problem. A couple weeks later I got an email indicating they received the return package but they still have NOT REFUNDED my credit card!To be fair to Amazon I have ordered a considerable amount from them in the past and never had a problem, before now. However, don't expect much help if you ever have a problem with this outfit. I also tried calling the service center where my order was processed, in this case Kentucky; I don't recommend even trying calling those, non give a crap clueless people, they are less than helpful.

Small handle
The only thing I didn't care for is the handle is a little on the small side, Great knife though.
