My Butt Finally Found Its Soulmate: An Ode to IGel Comfort Support
Let's face it, sitting is suffering. Especially on chairs designed by interior decorators who clearly have sworn a blood oath to destroy tailbones. But fear not, fellow chair-sitters! The iGel Comfort Support seat cushion is here to turn your frown upside down.Imagine this: you, once a prisoner of uncomfortable chairs, are now lounging in plushy bliss. Bumps? What bumps? Schiatica? Never heard of her! This cushion is like a magic cloud that cradles your backside in a gel-infused hug.

SET A TIMER TO REMIND YOURSELF TO GET UP AND MOVE AROUND FROM TIME TO TIME!
I mean because it's that comfortable. I mainly use it on my old desk swivel chair that has long since lost it's cush, and on the first day 5 hours went by without a murmur of complaint from my bony backside. I am a lightweight, so I can't speak to you well-upholstered folks, but for me this is a lifesaver on any kind of hard seat and well worth the money. The only thing that would make it better would be a carry handle like some of their other models have.

Need to use this all the time to prevent pain, but nothing can relieve pain once it's set in. Wish they would devise another cushion just like this but a little thicker in the back edge. I do not like bucket seats, as they don't sit flat. The part near the back dips down and the seats curl up on the outside edges. If this cushion was configured thicker in the back and to level out the bucket seats, they could make a mint!

The "gel" is overrated
I was hoping for a cushion that would soften my school bus seat. As a driver, I sit in it for hours each day, and the seat is older, harder than my butt likes, and I wanted a simple, effective cushion to soften the ride. This was not what I was hoping for. The gel is, to me, a waste of space. It is a porous grid of silicone or silicone-like rubber, which crinkles and collapses with a crunching feel. The holes in the gel, and the ribs made of the gel, make for a bumpy, lumpy feel, which is weird. My hope was for something that was soft, yielding, and cushioning, without any weird over-designed technology that accomplishes a net negative effect than simple foam and memory foam would accomplish easily. The problem is that straight up foam and memory foam seems to no longer be trendy, and these combination material, high tech gel, contoured shapes, and funky ideas are competing for the most advanced offerings on the market. And in my opinion, the marketing and design have produced a Frankenstein monster for the seat cushion market. It's difficult to find a simple, basic, comfortable pad without the goofy and uncomfortable gimmicks.

Springy, stays put
Nice cushion. It's a great size and feels very springy to the touch, different than regular foam. The underside fabric cover is covered with tiny silicone dots or something like that and it doesn't slide around on the seat at all. So far very promising, and definitely softer than the expensive adjustable office chair I use it on.

Huge relief
My NordicTrack GX5.0 Pro Recumbent Bike needed more cushion on the seat. It is a large seat and it was kind of tricky finding something that would be the right fit. This particular pad is absolutely perfect! Can comfortably ride for an hour now! It does have a nonslip back, but also a strap that I was able to use the keep the cushion from sliding at all.

A little deceiving. Gel not as thick as it looks. Uses foam and gel.
Not as thick gel layer as they want you to think. They use a layer of cheap foam next to the gel layer. Upon very close inspection it seems very obvious they tried to hide that fact with how they sewed it.

Great for recovering from back surgery
I had major back surgery 3 years ago and sitting is still more difficult than standing. When I came home from the hospital, I found most seats (car/chairs in the house/church pew) were too hard for me to sit on. I bought one of these pads right away and found it a great help to reduce the pain. I just purchased another as I am now working from home and need it for my kitchen chair. I can leave the other one in my car. It's nice to have the zipper opening. I had to add a towel under the pad that I use in my car due to the angle of the seat. And, it doesn't get hard like a foam pad does when it gets cold. Overall, a great product. I highly recommend it.
