Lasers have caused great changes in everything - ecology, geography, space applications and on and on. We all think the laser has been a great force for innovation in areas we might know well, but this book illuminates the changes on multiple fronts. It is packed with discovery and marvel at the cleverness of these discoveries.

Todd did a very nice job with this. I work in the field, and I still learned a lot. Well worth the time spent.

Superb summary of lidar technology from beginning to the current state and the future ahead. It covers almost all of the main technologies and the key people driving the development.

Interesting study of lasers.

Well researched and written in a way that makes a complicated and complex subject very approachable. True to character, Todd drops in some humor making this a very informative and interesting read!
