Not really practical
Nothing in this book that isn't already common sense. Take care of yourself. Get some sleep. Get some exercise. Eat better. Well, no kidding, really? Right away it has you read all kinds dietary info that seems Greek to me. With this info it wants you to draw up your own diet. The whole thing just seems so out of touch with the realities of true low esteem. I reckon that people who find this book helpful are not truly struggling with low self esteem. The more one thinks about it, the more one has to doubt that any workbook could actually do anything for anyone.Another book for the donation pile.

This book has changed my life
I am going through this workbook with my therapist. We have only gotten through the first six chapters, and already, it's made a HUGE difference in my life. I anticipate that I will be able to say that this book was literally life-changing for me, and that the decision to go through this workbook was a pivotal one in my life. If you think that you might even have mild self-esteem issues, I encourage you to get this workbook. I don't know whether it is advised to try to go through it on your own. I know that, for me, I wouldn't get as much out of it without the insights and guidance of my counselor.

It’s nicely designed with exercises but is a bit over my head.
I believe this is helpful for self esteem, but it was a little over my head.I am in therapy for Complex PTSD and other stuff which may affect my interpretation of the exercises. I switched to the “Stop Walking On Eggshells“ workbook that breaks things down more simply for my particular experiences. However, I recently made a friend who is burned out like me but can’t continue therapy right now; some of the things mentioned made me think of this book and I was grateful to be able to pass it on to her (and she was grateful to have it).All in all I believe this book is beneficial... for the right audience, if self-esteem is the targeted issue I think the exercises are worth the time invested into the practices.

It will change your life if you are willing
I am only a week in to this book and it has some how changed my life already. I was told about this book from a friend whom said.."Follow all the instructions and steps and take it seriously." Not going to lie. I was going to skip the first part where it has you do nutrition. It helps you with guidelines but it really makes you sit and think about how you can change your diet and believe me...having a good diet is helpful. Life throws you dodge balls all the time, you need to get physically better before working on the mental stuff which is going to be ten times harder. I recommend this book already and I havent even gotten past page 10 yet. Less than a week to go and I can honestly say that my diet is here for good. Change for the better is good.

Learned some very important thoughts
I had some wrong ideas in my head. This book has enormously helped me in gaining an accurate understanding self worth. At first it felt counter intuitive, but when I applied those ideas in my life, I understood it's the right thing.

Very helpful
I have only read through chapter 3 right now, but I have learned a lot from this book. However, I think the book is only effective if you are ready for change.

Highly recommended
I was not surprised to see among the many positive reviews of "The Self-Esteem Workbook" that readers are going through it with a counselor. It's an outstanding workbook filled with helpful insights, exercises and practices. I do believe it will be most helpful to go through it with a counselor or trusted friend so that you can discuss the content and how to apply it. If someone else isn't available, one will still benefit from going through the workbook on your own as I did. Dr. Schiraldi is a trustworthy, well-respected expert and his comprehensive knowledge is clearly seen in all the great content he included. Highly recommended!

Does the job
Every once in a while I have to be around difficult people who cause me pain and I have to heal my self-esteem. This book did the trick for me. I’m ok again. It says that love heals so I wish this for all of us. This is a helpful book. Buy with confidence.

Very Christian ideas in disguise, not for atheists
I really couldn't use this product because it's foundational step, "unconditional self worth", is heavily shaped by Christian philosophy, without being explicit. The is a basic assertion that "you are important and valuable as a person because your essential, core self is unique and precious; of infinite, eternal, unchanging value; and good" (p. 33). The author then elaborates that the "core self" can also be thought of as the "essential, spiritual self" (p.34). People who already agree with these ideas may benefit from this book. But if you're an atheist or just a critical agnostic reader, this might turn you off so much you're unable to draw value from the book at all. My experience was one star, giving it two in recognition that others may not mind these issues. I wish this book was better flagged as being based on Judeo-Christian ideas!

Really Useful Workbook for Use With All Ages
I am a psychotherapist and I bought this to use with my clients in sessions. I mostly counsel teenagers and I found this book so useful with its overview of just what self-esteem is and lots of worksheets and ideas to use with clients. I use it most weeks as it is a recurrent theme among this age group. It is an easy read and very uplifting and the worksheets are just the right length for students to comfortably work through. Recommended.

Good if you want to do the work
I like how this is written, easy to understand with good references. Some of the exercises could be a bit clearer
