Works out of the box, but beware of the outdated software
This product works as advertised, and it has increased the throughput of my power line network, but there are three significant flaws I've uncovered.1) The sync feature just does not work. Following the instructions results in the modules losing communication. Resetting them back to their factory defaults clears up the problem, but you are stuck on the default security password.2) I thought to download the latest version of the power line utility from TrendNet's website but Malwarebytes indicates the site is possibly infected with malware. This could be a false positive but it does not inspire confidence.3) If you do download the utility program it requires the additional install of software that has not been supported since 2013.So, if you just want to use it out of the box and don't care about the configurable security capabilities then this will work. Beyond that, look elsewhere.

YOU HAVE TO BUY TWO FOR IT TO WORK
THIS PRODUCT WAS DECEIVING BECAUSE IT DID NOT SAY THAT IT NEEDED TO SETUPS IN ORDER TO GET WIRELESS IN OTHER ROOMS. YOU NEED ONE TOBE CONNECTED TO ROUTER AND THE OTHER TO HAVE THE WIRELESS BOUNCE TO IT....IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH IT TOTALLY USELESS!

Works really well
I found a lot of cheap (you know what Country I'm talking about) powerline wifi extenders in the 40 dollar range. Then I saw this unit for just over a hundred dollars and figured it might be a higher quality product. When I got it I discovered I also needed the plug in adapter to connect to my router. Bummer, but okay so I then ordered the TRENDnet Powerline 1300 AV2 Adapter with Built-in Outlet, Gigabit Port, IEEE 1905.1 & IEEE 1901, Range Up to 300m (984 ft.), TPL-423E. I figured even with a superior product that the stuff from the cheap Country, I'd have maybe a 40-50% chance of it working. Where I needed the wifi to function is in my shop in a big pole building exactly 240 feet behind my house. I wasn't sure if this device only worked on the same circuit or if it was possible to use on anything tied into my breaker panel. I plugged in the TRENDnet Powerline 1300 AV2 Adapter TPL-423E next to my router in the house and connected the Ethernet cable. Then I plugged in the TRENDnet Wi-Fi Everywhere Powerline 1200 AV2 A TPL-430AP out in my shop 240 feet from the house. After about two minutes the data light was lit up. What a welcome surprise. I needed this device so I could use Ring cameras and security system out in the shop. All I had to do was enter the TRENDnet Wi-Fi Everywhere Powerline TPL-430AP wifi password and everything worked amazingly well. The cameras instantly connected and began a very quick firmware update. I am thrilled this worked so perfectly.

It does work as decribed but is not easy to setup :-(
**setup instructions were very sketchy -- but I did find a file (manual) at last that describes how to do it and it all works good and my Data transfer / communications across my WIFI has increased to excellent. ** Note this is a wired connection back to the Router Product that uses your network VIA an adapter to send through your AC electric lines internet signals to other devices thereby expanding your wired network**This is not a product for a non-technical person who is not skilled in network products. I have over 21 yrs. experience in the field. I rate it overall a 4 because of this. I have that PDF(Manual) file that solves the connections issue between additional devices. I would post it here if I could. But one can find it.

Watch out! Connectivity and synchronization issues!
Originally purchased two TPL422E units. Many hours later, got the two to synch, NOT following directions, but by trial and error with the synch buttons. Purchased a third 422E for another room; cannot get this one to synch with the other two. Called for tech support: despite her and my best efforts, the woman was barely understandable. She gave me solutions I could not implement.I recall reading that the SIDE OF THE BREAKER PANEL may make a difference in whether these will synch. I'm not going to rewire the panel. I will return the third unit, but will say that a) these things are very difficult to work with, and b) Tech support needs to speak at least a modicum of English! NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Easy to use and setup.
This was easy to install and use. Just plug it into an electric outlet. The included management software is used to download firmware updates for the installed units in your home. You do not need the software loaded on a pc in order to use the devices. The software needs to be updated by the manufacturer to use Npcap instead of Winpcap. Winpcap is old and no longer supported by the developer.

Works with Netgear
Works exactly as intended and can be paired with Netgear powerlines as well. I was looking to purchase a single powerline adapter from Netgear but they only sold them in packs so I decided to take a risk and buy this instead. Both adapters work the same way in terms of connecting and using them so I had zero problems adding this one onto my powerline network.

Nice product but could improve it's setup and technology
The product after a few months caused my TV to automatically power off and on as I used it's plug to power my tv. Had to move my TV source to another plug.
