An extra added benefit is I found that it lighten age spots on my hands. I wear white cotton gloves to bed over top of surf dirt covering all my age spots on my hands. I found this out accidentally but it works.

I feel good about putting this on my kids - so many sunscreens have hormone disruptors but this has healthy/plant derived/etc. ingredients. It doesn’t sting their eyes so I feel good about sharing with my family!

**review update: in Maui and this stuff is outstanding! It gets warm and spreadable! The other reef safe sunscreens are white and I look like a mime the whole day. This is brown! So you don’t look ridiculous! It is super thick and you are very protected. The chocolate smell doesn’t linger. It does rub onto my bathing suits and clothes. But you truly feel horrible swimming around without reef safe sunscreen. Original review I wrote from Massachusetts: I ordered this based on outstanding reviews. It just arrived and I must say that I am suspicious of it before I’ve even tried it. It has the texture of lip balm and it smells like chocolate. I’m not sure how I’m suppose to slather this all over my back and legs...and I’ll smell like chocolate. I thought it would smell beachy. I’m not sure if I’m returning this. I actually spent $40 ordering 2 and couldn’t believe how small it was. Maybe I’m just used to generous amounts of white lotion. The chocolate smell is still weird.

Seriously love this! I have tried another very similar brand in bamboo packaging without a tinted version, and the white cast is so noticeable on my tan skin. And the consistency was hard as a rock and impossible to spread. It just got crumbly and dry.On the other hand, Surf Dirt is perfect! The tan color goes well with my skin and I don’t have to deal with a white cast and the consistency is actually great. It does take a little effort to warm it in your hand, but compared to others I’ve tried, this is great. I love it!

I was looking for an all natural sunscreen that didn’t make me breakout. This product fully delivered. Not only does it protect my face when surfing or hiking, it actually leaves my skin looking BETTER after use!!! Many of the other all natural alternatives I tried contained cinnamon and other irritants. This is the only product that has the best of only what need and none of what you don’t.

Best tinted sunscreen I ever tried. It’s smooth to put on. Looks like I have make up on but all naturally I feel and look my best. I am truly happy with this sunscreen. I love it. Females must try tinted sunscreen. This is awesome! ❤️

I used to use surf durt years ago, then moved to the Midwest and wasn't outside much and not in the water. Fast forward a couple years and I took a Hawaii trip so I went back to my "trusted" brand for the trip. I applied what I feel like was an appropriate amount of sunscreen and I got a pretty severe burn within two hours outside. If I had been in the water or something that would maybe make sense but I reapplied an hour through and was dry and I really don't think it should last less than an hour. I bought a different reef-safe sunscreen the next day and applied that on my sunburned skin to go out and my sunburn got significantly better even as I was still out the next few days. There are other brands out there that sell reef-safe sunscreen, don't hurt yourself using this one.

This is a great sunscreen for surfers that goes on as a thicker paste and lasts for at least 80 minutes. The product does take a little pressure from your finger to get out of the can but applies easily enough. Thanks for saving our reefs Surf Durt! :)
