I would recommend this scale! We use it to weigh puppies and it works great. I do have to make sure it is on a flat surface to get an accurate weight but that is normal with any scale.

I work at a veterinary hospital, and we have always used those baby scales w/ the cradling design for weighing cats and small dogs, which most pets find unstable. When I needed to buy my own personal scale for home use for an ailing cat, I decided on this one, and I am so glad I did. It's slim design fits into my drawer, so I can hide it when not in use...but more importantly, it's flat surface makes it more stable for pets so they're less squirmy on the scale. I was also pleased by the last-weight memory, its ability to calculate changes in weight, and its "hold" function to measure the weight of a moving animal. It appears to be very accurate, such that when I weight then re-weigh my cat, the recorded weight is the same or only off by half an ounce. This was well worth the price, and overall I'm glad I invested in this scale.

Pretty easy to use for cats (as easy as weighing a cat can ever be). My dog won't get on it, but that's not the fault of the scale, although the top could be a little less slippery--maybe rubberized would help. I've tried putting a towel down to keep it from being so slippery and make him feel more relaxes, but he just bunches it up in his struggle to escape, and then the whole operation is pointless. Besides these difficulties, the display is easy to read, which is a plus when you're struggling with a squirmy cat. The numbers are positively huge and the controls are fairly easy to figure out, although there was no guide book in the box to help me figure out the tare and how "Hold" functions, etc. It was also merely shipped in its own box, which arrived a bit bashed up by UPS/USPS (I forget who delivered). While I appreciate the minimalist packaging from a green perspective, it was a minor miracle that the scale itself arrived intact. Maybe some bubble wrap around it inside the box would be a good idea in lieu of a second box for packaging.

Great scale for the price

I bought this scale to monitor my cat's weight. He is on a diet and I don't want him to lose too fast and have liver problems. Tested the scale with a bag of sugar and it weighed true. I thought I would have a hard time getting him on the scale but it is very low to the ground and he just walked right up on it and laid down. Cats are funny that way. We have another weight check in 2 days. I hope that being able to monitor his weight on a regular basis will help me with adjusting his meal portions. The scale didn't come with instructions but its pretty simple so you really don't need any.

It is easy to use and read the display, however, the results are very variable. I have not been able to replicate the weight of my cat, even closely, twice after several weighing trials. Our cat is about 7 - 8 lbs, the weight returned by the scale varies as much as 2 lbs which is a very significant error at this small weight.

This scale is exactly what I needed to keep track of my cats' weight. It's extremely light so it's easy to move around & it's totally flat so the cats don't freak out by being on a non-level surface. My only complaint is that I trained my cat to enjoy being on the scale with Temptations, and now he runs over and jumps on as soon as I pull the scale out - so I have to take him off so the scale can zero out. Pretty sure that was a user error ;)

I purchased this scale to track the weight of small animals. When my measurements showed significant differences with my Vet's calibrated scale I decided to run some tests. I first weighed a known quantity and got good results- within a half ounce. I next simulated a moving animal by gently tapping the weight. The digital scale on the unit became erratic and unreadable. I engaged the 'Hold' function' and got a readable result. This result was significantly high and variable. Based on this test and results from my Vet's scale, you might expect 4-10 ounces of error. This is too much error to be of any use when monitoring the weight of sick or diabetic animals. This scale does not appear to have any mechanical or electrical dampening which may explain the low price. Go talk to your Vet and see what they use. Mine uses a model the goes for about $100 and I've observed it in use- the readings are much more steady.

Nice wide surface for Barn CATs to get comfortable on, monitoring their weight gives me some idea of their health.

Bought this product to get accurate weights on my cats. First 2 or 3 times it worked ok, then weights were off, some considerably off.Changed batteries, no difference.Now it will not stay on long enough to get a weight reading.Very disappointed.
