2014 Chevy Silverado Z71 Chrome Grille Insert Horizontal Overlay Trim

I ordered this grille for my 2015 Silverado, even after seeing a bunch of reviews saying it didn't fit well. The product arrived quickly. Installation is pretty straightforward and only took a few minutes. I love how it adds a little something to the front.I saw what people were saying about it not fitting well. It seemed as though it didn't want to snap in but with moderate pressure I got them to snap on just fine. I was sort of doubting that it would stay snapped and figured it would come off while driving. I am pleased to say that I have had it for about a year now with no problems. I've taken it through several car washes and it still looks great.The issue seems to be in the manufacturing tolerances regarding the snap position and length. I guess the company either figured out their issues or I just got lucky. For the price, I'm glad I took the risk. Good luck.

The grill insert certainly adds bling to the front of the truck. It did not just snap into place as was advertised. I added two sided tape to each of the four upright bars on both the upper and lower inserts. In addition, the ends would pop out and even after adding two sided tape it wasn't enough to hold the ends in place. I ended up putting a double layer of two sided tape and then put small c-clamps on the ends which after a day of being clamped, the ends held. So far it's been a week and the ends are still holding but I haven't been through a carwash yet so I'm still a little skeptical as to how well the ends will hold. Primarily because the stress placed on the ends just to bend them enough to fit over the existing grill. So yes it looks nice. No it didn't fit as was originally described and if it wasn't for the improvising I had to do there was no way the inserts would have stayed in place. Now I'm on the watch to see if they will stay in place. Keeping my fingers crossed because as I've stated they do add an attractive bling.

It looks great on the truck. But, the top piece on the right hand side was very stubborn. It didn't want to click in. And when it did click in a couple seconds later it popped back out. So I put a little bit of adhesive tape behind it to keep it from popping back out. It looks great. Let's see how it does on the highway and bumpy roads.

I was a little suspicious at first when I ordered this grille since I ordered a grille previously from another supplier that was supposed to fit my new 2014 Z71 but did not fit well, so I returned it. But this grille was all I hoped it would be, fit perfectly, so easy to install and looks fantastic. If you have a Z71 with the plastic (black) grille as I did and want to add a little class to the grille you will not be disappointed in buying one of these grilles. Even though it is a snap on grille I would still install some 3M tape on the outside bars just to be safe as I did. Great grille for the price as well.

The custom chrome grille overlay came in and immediately I removed it from the box to inspect it. It was without blemish and had a great chrome luster. Upon trying to install the item. This is where the crap hit the fan! I followed the directions to a "T" It continuously popped off. The clips in the back of the overlay was not long enough to successfully grab the lip of the factory grille to attach itself. I began to doubt myself as to whether I was correctly installing it. So, I went to the local Chevrolet dealership. They came to the same conclusion and recommended me sending it back as I could easily be rolling down the street and the grille cover would fall off. Maybe you would have better luck with the mold you receive from them as opposed to what I got.

So this grill overlay came today let me say first it looks good on my new truck and if the little snaps would have worked right it would have been better i didn't have any two sided tape but I had gorilla glue and a small paint brush so I used that it took a little pressure for about 15 minutes to let the glue set but it's not coming off without breaking the grill underneath if you zoom in and look really close you can see the hardened glue but you got to get close time will tell if it last

This is a high quality part and could easily pass as OEM. Chevrolet should have made the 2014 Z71 grill look like this to begin with. Installation was a snap (no pun intended). On the four vertical bars on the top and bottom pieces, I put a strip of 3M automotive double sided tape in each. Probably overkill but I thought if someone would try to pop it off to steal them, this might hinder them enough so they lose interest.

Looks great, hasn't fallen off in a carwash, and seems to be made from good materials, but the fit was poor.The pros - price is right, and the look is great. It seems to be secure, in spite of the bad fit.The cons - the fit was the biggest problem. No matter what I do, all of the clips will not snap on. There were three that can't seem to snap into place. The drivers side bottom corner was the worst.The summary. I will buy it again if it breaks or falls off.
