good knife (as you'd expect)
didn't read the description properly, so was disappointed it was a plastic model. Having used it, its a decent quality and a good light back up.

Handyman’s tool
Stanley quality has never let me down before. It’s sturdy with a retractable blade for work around the house. I don’t think it’s strong enough for licensed builders etc but perfect for the house. It retracts all the way to offer protection from the blade too. The colour is nice, the bright yellow stands out and is unique for tools so is easy to find. I’d rate the quality an 8/10 with value for money being a 10/10

Could be a little bit more sturdy
Could be a little bit more sturdy, but does the job and was a good value buy for a decoration job.

Light but strong
I absolutely love these Lightweight Stanley Knives. I have used them for years and to be honest I thought that they were not made any more. Not even listed on fleabay. They are Lightweight, that is the point of the design so people moaning about them being light weight are stupid and can't grasp simple facts. In a pocket you can hardly feel the weight compared to the original metal bodied knives. They are simplicity itself, press on the dimpled black button with your thumb and push forward, the knife slides into two pieces and you can then change the blade. There is room for about 6 heavy duty blades inside the knife. It will take the normal straight blades and the curved hook blades and any other standard sized Stanley blade. It is not meant to be heavy duty but it will last a long time and no tools are required for blade changes. I had 3 of these for years, lost one and my last two are getting a bit worn, I was so pleased when I saw them on Amazon I bought another 4. They will probably see me to the grave. When I bought these they were only £2.12 each an absolute bargain and a discount for bulk buy. Now they are £6.48 each which is daylight robbery.

Cuts, but very cheap manufacturing
The media could not be loaded. Wow this thing is cheap. The plastic case feels like the really cheap fake lego plastic. I realise stanley have a variety of knives at different price points for different customer segments, but this one really is the cheapest manufacturing cost that they could get away with.It comes with one single blade, so when that is dull or snaps, then you'll need to buy seperate blades. It cuts fine, for now. I dont think it will last very long in a tool box. Fine for a kutchen drawer.

Relatively cheap Stanley retractable knife
I had one of these in my tools for a few years and used it for all sorts. started using it at work on a daily basis and yes that took its toll on the plastic causing it to become brittle and break. I got my moneys worth out of it and liked the shape. I bought a generic metal retractable which is much tougher but could not grip it as well for the task I was doing. Purchased this knife again and has been great for my needs. Its light weight and tough enough for my needs. all these other reviews saying difficult to change blades? no more difficult than changing batteries in a remote control! I will be buying another when this one is done.

Cheap design, frankly dangerous
Took this apart to put a new blade in it and thought for a moment it was broken. It wasn't, it's just so cheaply made. The blade doesn't seat easily because of the tight tolerances. It's a screwless construction to fit it back together, but because it requires several movements to clip it back together, it's easy to knock the blade out of alignment and cut yourself. Which I did.Never had an issue with any of the cheaper metal designs which screw back together. It's an absolute case study of how cheap you can make something which barely holds together. We will be replacing these as from a risk assessment perspective, we can't rely on them in a workshop. Spend an extra couple of quid and get something less frustrating to put together.

Stanley quality as usual.
Good for opening Amazon parcels and all the other stuff you can cut. Retractable and replaceable blade is useful. Easy to open to change the blade.
