Good coverage for Large macaw cage
Material is a little thin-not a canvas type material

Exactly what I needed
I have a large playtop, similar shape to a dome top but smaller. This fits perfectly except it’s too long. Length was easily remedied, I just cut it off. The open flap makes it easy to throw over, then adjusts to completely cover the cage. Happy with the purchase.

Hair Thin Fabric
Waste of money and time, I don’t have any fabric skills so I decided to buy a cover instead of figuring out how to make one but I’m gonna have to make one anyway.First off, this is definitely only for the Empire right out of the box, we got the Silverado because of the nice decorative top and, as you can see, I’ll be buying some safety pins next to hold it up.Kitchen light offers some idea as to how thin it is, we have a sleeper cage now so they don’t have to put up with that no worries. There might as well be no cover. It’s the same in the daylight, and I can see people walking past through the fabric in both night and day. I had a huge blanket covering the top half and felt bad they could see lights and feet walking. This is literally worse than that because she can now see lights and a whole person walking.I don’t think they can justify the price at all. “It’s a lot of fabric!” but it’s so cheap and thin that the only way no one would complain is if it was like $20-30 for the thing. I’m so lazy I’d even consider buying two of these atrocities to save myself the time but I doubt layering will make any difference.I might as well buy sheer curtains as a cover, they’d probably block out more light haha.

Conflicted about this review
I am somewhat mixed about this review. I like this birdcage cover, and it really seems to be the only one for the size cage that I have for my Parrot. Therefore, since it doesn’t seem that there’s anything better, it seems kind of weird to point out the flaws in this one. What I do like about it, it does block out all light. It’s also breathable so it allows for a lot of fresh air into the cage. The two main downsides:If you’re like me, your bird spends most of the time out of its cage during the day. However, when you do have to go out to the grocery store or whatever for a few hours, you do have to put your parrot back in his cage. For this reason, on days where we’re going to be going out of the house I take the cover completely off the birdcage, because I want him to have a light and a view out of all four walls while he is in his cage. Why is this a problem? This cover is not that easy to put back on the cage. Especially being a very large birdcage, it’s hard to get the right sides over the top and get it to stay in place long enough for you to tweak it so it is in the right position on the cage, with the front door on the front, which is a necessity. The biggest downside, though, and the one I really do not like, is there are no zippers or anything else on the front door. And since all bird cages are slightly different, it makes the front not hang straight down, allowing light to come through the sides. My solution for this was pretty simple, I bought clamps, and I pulled the front door to stretch over to the sides of the cage, overlapping the side part of the cover. And then I clamp them down together.Obviously, neither one of these are things that you can’t get around. But it would just be nice if there was an easier way to either roll it up when your bird is inside so you don’t have to take a completely off… And to have zippers on the front door so you’re not constantly fighting with trying to keep the light out when you Clamp it up.
