Man, why did I not buy this before!!
This little thing is awesome if you are like me. If you, like me, keep all paperwork from doctor visits or mechanic or other various paperwork you will want this. I took years of statements and scanned them all relatively quickly with its quick feeding and short time per scan. I knew that once I scanned all my papers I would not need a bulky machine for some time so this little thing was awesome to do the job and then easily be put away for later. And when I did need it again I would simply take it out and plug it in and be scanning in less than a minute. Keep in mind what your needs are though. If you are in a office and scan tons of things daily, you may want to upgrade to another unit which will be in place all the time and not put away. This does not have a feeder so you are feeding each sheet by hand. Yes it would have been nice to have the feeder for my initial usage of some 200+ pieces of paper but after that initial run it would have been useless for me doing one or two pages here and there. It scans very nicely but limited in what you scan, this is more for printed receipts and or other paperwork compared to perhaps scanning old pictures. It does a great job at centering the images and can easily do continuous scanning of pages into one large PDF or multiple images, but it is also only one side so you need to flip the page but it is happy just scanning page after page. The software could be better, more options but it gets the job done with little flair but consistent and reliable.

True to its Features
I have no issues with the use of the Scanner. I would like to see a setting to scan photos. However, maybe I am not finding the way to scan photos in a higher dpi. For documents and standard size paper it works very well. For the receipts, it sometimes fails to scan without going off to the side as it is being feed into the scanner. Resulting in the final scan not straight or skewed a little. However, this is a nice product and I own various Epson products and this one does not fail. Especially for a portable scanner. The WiFi capability is also a nice plus. I have not used this feature too much to give a full review. But it does work.

This is a great little scanner, but...
I love this little scanner. It is very handy for people that don't do a lot of scanning, but may need to scan a document every once in a while and don't need a big, traditional scanner/printer combo. It's pretty easy to use once you get the process down and the app makes making small alterations to documents fairly easy. But, I do have two complaints. The first being that (at least from what I've experienced) you need to connect to the scanner's Wi-Fi network in order to use the app via a phone. A mild annoyance, but, an annoyance nonetheless. Sometimes the Wi-Fi network takes a while to (scanning, talking seconds here) to show up. On a very, very rare occasion, it may not show up at all. It's very annoying because you can't use the app until you connect to the scanner via Wi-Fi. I wish it was just a simple Bluetooth connection. The second complaint being that I wish this thing came with a stand, or that Epson or someone else sold one. In my experience, this scanner scans documents SO much better when you have the scanner at about a 70 degree angle vertically, and you use gravity to feed each page. I've resorted to using a tablet stand that I made some little alterations too, but, I wish that there was a stand for this. I've noticed that when you just try to feed them by hand or a flat surface, the scanner doesn't pick up the full page and the top of the page starts late and the bottom of the document is cut off. I've found a way around it to get it to feed reliably (at a 70 degree angle), but I wish there was a stand that offered by Epson that could resolve this issue.

Small, but awesome
My wife is retiring from the Navy after 20 years, and she asked me to scan her medical records into files that can be sent to the VA. I have a scanner built into our printer at home, but if I had to toss a guess out, I would say each page on that thing would be about 20-25 seconds to scan. She has 5 volumes of medical records... That's not happening. I'd considered contracting out this work as there are companies that will take the medical records, scan and index them, but I decided this scanner should work and provided at least some of the features the contract company was offering. The software is pretty easy to set up, and it's not difficult at all to get it connected to a wireless network. I admittedly don't know if it would work without being connected to my PC, but as I was doing A LOT of scanning I kept it hooked up to keep the battery charged. So far, I've scanned about 3/5 of her records, which took me about 4 hours. I'm very happy with the quality of the scans, and the software which allows saving the pages as searchable PDF files. I think my only gripe would be that once you save all the files, the page with all the scans closes. I'm not sure if those scans are saved on my PC anywhere, and haven't really had the time to dig into it (for instance, if I wanted to go back and save parts of volumes without having to rescan the pages). It's something I will look into. I also scanned a few long receipts, as that's a future use I wanted the scanner for, and it worked well enough. It's a little difficult to keep them feeding straight if they're REALLY long, but it's not a deal breaker. Pros: Ease of use, good software, very fast when compared to a traditional scanner you'd find on a household all-in-one printer. Cons: Not exactly sure if scans are saved individually, and the charge did run down to half even while hooked to my PC during scanning. But I was doing A LOT of scanning over and over again, so probably wouldn't be an issue except for VERY heavy use. Overall very satisfied with the scanner.

If you are looking for a super easy little scanner to scan letter sized documents and odd sized receipts this is a very good option. Once the scanner is on and has a chance to connect to the network, insert your document and hit scan. The scanner software interface is easy to use and pops up on the screen right after the first page is scanned. I find that the first 1/8" of the document doesn't get scanned which is not an issue for me (I am sure you could find a work around if you need to). When you first insert the item the doc. feed grabs it and holds it for you until you hit the scan button. Seems to feed easily, I have run some longer receipts through and they look good once scanned (track through the scanner well). Scanning multiple pages is fine, the software will combine them into one document. Works with multiple odd sized scans as well. Scanned in the wrong order, no problem, just rearrange them in the software before you hit save. All and all I should have bought this a long time ago as it is so easy to use, compact, and fast.
